Quick ass doodle in SAI, but aside from that.The Queen (of England and the subsequent UK) will be visiting the Republic of Ireland. For the first time EVER. Tomorrow.
There's plenty of mixed feelings about this, and this was anticipated and talked about for years, but the most popular rant here is how much we'll be spending on security, O' Connell street's being blocked off, blah blah blah where did I save my game on Homestuck yadda yadda and a certain bunch of crazies are well in the minority. We're being cranky/indifferent about the thing but Cead Mile FΓ‘ilte anyway. :'D
The building behind England and Ireland here is the (fail!sketch) General Post Office, which is an ironic landmark in the history of the countries. [link]

My simple thought on the subject: Cool it happened, but overall mood is indifferent, I hate politics. Overall it was a typical predictable political visit (Seriously, there's a pattern!!!!).
I recall reading that the visit would help put the two countries in better terms. I do hope things get better.

The Queen has always wanted to come to Ireland but the response was always "Security is too big an issue at the moment and the Irish are still touchy about an official visit" so in my opinion I think we should just let her have her trip.She's very old, nearly at the end of her life and if its something she's always wanted to do just let her do it before she dies.
