Background Info
Observant | Clever | Candid | Curious | Naive | Nervous | Brave | Humble
Manon is both book-smart and emotionally smart, always searching for answers of whatever current thing she's curious about. She enjoys analyzing people, stories, and surroundings in search of noticing what she can tamper with. Her morals are firm, though they have changed overtime during her stay in the academy. Her personality is flexible and adapts to whoever she's interacting with, being more upbeat and open with friends and slightly formal to strangers. Alongside this, she can feign ignorance to try and get people to speak about themselves or about something she wishes to learn. Manon is humble, which is due to lack of confidence, being aware of the fact she's human and therefore not as strong as other students mixed with a natural lack of self esteem.
The academy has also changed her both positively and negatively, as she has grown to be brave and capable of aiding her friends or getting into dangerous situations for them. However, it has also caused her to develop severe nervousness and worry when she's not certain if someone will be fine, and will often blame herself over it.
Biography
Raised in an orphanage since she was born, Manon was one of the oldest there. The town she was in was one where some folks had trained in the art of manipulating their auras into spells and magic. However, due to not being outside too much, she stayed unaware of this information. At first she was happy with her life, not really caring about being adopted and focusing more on herself. It was around the age of six when a boy, named Sean, arrived at the orphanage with a book that belonged to his mother. Accidentally, he discovered that the book was actually a spellbook, and this sparked her interest in magic.
For the next four years she and Sean did different tests with it. Sean being the hand of work, and Manon being the brains. The two also tried to help her explore using the same energy Sean did, but to no avail. This, however, came to a halt once Sean was adopted by a loving family from the town, and left the orphanage. Manon patiently waited for a letter, but never received any. Eventually, the two found each other once more when she started studying in the local school, when Sean had been picked on by some people. Although small and very young, she instantly stood up for him, and after they had a discussion regarding his broken promise, the two made up again.
Afterwards, they began a relationship that quickly died down once Sean told her that he truly didn't feel the same way as her. Although she accepted it, she was still heartbroken and avoided him for a bit. Which would turn into a longer while; At the age of fifteen, not long after that event, she was adopted by a lady that had been visiting the orphanage for the past month, Suzanne. Suzanne had grown a liking for the girl, and offered to take her to London as her adoptive mother. Now with the last name 'Bourgeois', Manon set off to London.
After 'working her ass off' to enroll into a prestigious university in Psychology, she moved in with a roommate and used her free time to read about magic and how it functioned in her world. She also took notes of the different myths that caught her eye, and kept trying to investigate if there was a case like hers, as she could not manipulate her aura into magic.
Attending the Academy
One day, a letter arrived at her apartment, her roommate dropping it on her bed. It was then when she opened it that she saw it was an invitation, an academy had sensed her potential due to her perseverance in finding out about magic, and had invited her to enroll in one of their arts.
It seemed too good to be true, so at first she took time to tell her foster mother, dropped out of her college, and then accepted without a doubt.
Had the night not been cold enough, Manon perhaps wouldn't have noticed the bar where later a fight broke out. Ever since, Manon's psyche took a toll from having seen the slaughterhouse that place had become. It was her first encounter with death, and it left an impression on her. Even if she didn't take part in them, she blamed herself a bit, believing she should've done something to stop the killer. What else did she choose to do, but put it for later, and focus elsewhere.
Instead, she focused on her studies. A sword cane and a backpack were handed down by a nephilim's lust demon friend, and a mage, and even if she doesn't have magic, it could be a start. The contract, although terrifying in nature, did not scare her as much as time went by. Her first year was both spent improving her newfound magic with the sword cane. One fateful day she ran into an archangel, who she recognized from the events dating months old. Confronting Eve, and seeing the truth behind her "appearance" in the fight, she focused now, with help from Gilbert, Kaia, and others, in investigating the serial killer known as Red Winter. Perhaps this was simply her way of atoning for the deaths that day, or maybe it was just in hope of helping Eve. If anyone knew, it certainly wasn't her.
As her third year went by, and plenty of events developed around her, Manon began to grow a both deep sense of determination to improve herself and, at the same time, began to grow slightly dim due to past events. However, slowly she's trying to recover, all while trying to learn as much magic as she can.
Ability Info
Species: Human
In her world all humans have an aura, which is what is usually spent when using magic. Only a few of them, which come from a line of magicians, are able to manipulate this energy. Unfortunately, Manon didn't come from one, but others can use her energy for spells to enhance the result and make it stronger.
Abilities1. Strong Deductive Skills:
- Manon has always been into investigation, and now due to that she manages to get information and solve complex problems with ease.
- Her train of thought keeps a lot of what she's gathered and puts it to use.
2. Observant:
- She can easily notice tiny details and manners on people, which usually can cause her to seem stalkerish.
- Manon's photographic memory provides her with enough details to take wild guesses and be almost certainly right.
3. Sword Cane:
- Her sword cane is her only source of magic. Usually she taps it against something for it to work, like a wand, but that isn't truly needed.
- She's able to summon it and disappear it at will, no need for anything other than her wishing for it to do so.
- It's also her main source of power, as she uses it for both self defense and spells.
4. Creativity:
- If she's asked to do something, she'll do anything to make it as asked. Granted, she may not do it in the most conventional ways, but she'll reach the asked goal regardless.
5. Bottomless Backpack:
- A bag created by Sidney that can hold 500 pounds worth of objects while always weighing 5 pounds.
- It can only fit what can enter through the bag's opening.
- If an item exceeds the limit, it'll be spit back out and won't be held by it.
6. Magic Practices:
Manon after obtaining her sword cane has learnt different spells, sigils and potions.
- Dark Arts:
- Val Es My Sayra: A spell that allows you to alter your looks, height, hair color, etc.
- Witch’s Envy: A potion that changes your face to the face of another person.
- Protection Sigil: A sigil that, once enchanted, protects Manon from weak enemies
- Siren’s Lie: A voice-changing potion that changes your own voice into one you listen to.
- Protection Barrier: A barrier that was tested with Celestine and protects Manon from physical attacks.
- Curses and Hex healings: A spell that gets rid of minor curses and hexes.
- Other:
- Fire: A spell taught by Jerielle that allows her to create a flame of fire from her sword cane. Though still lacking practice, it’s still something.
- Light ball: From the rose decor of her cane, Manon is able to summon a glowing ball of light that can illuminate as a flashlight. This spell is still in the works.
- Force Blast: With this (very) experimental spell, Manon can cause a wave of force to push or throw a person/an object back. This just feels as if someone had pushed you, but the strength and direction may vary with how Manon calculates it.
- Biological:
- Energy Harvest: Manon is capable of passing what she believes is her ‘aura’ to others, in hopes of allowing them to make spells or powers stronger than usual by 1.5x to 2.5x what it originally is.
7. Sigil:
- Manon has been studying how to craft sigils and use them, mainly activating them with her sword cane either by tapping it or stabbing the paper.
- Currently she only has one for the protective barrier, her shield and that's it.
Weaknesses1. No Powers:
- Manon is human, which means she doesn’t have any significant supernatural abilities.
- Normal diseases can kill her.
- She's not immortal either.
- Without either of her gadgets, she's powerless.
2. Strength & Combat:
- Although she's armed, Manon lacks a lot of strength and combat knowledge.
- She can easily be unarmed if she gets distracted.
3. Psyche and Empathy:
- Manon's psyche can easily be damaged by pinning the guilt on her, as she'll become determined to work better even if there wasn't anything she could do.
- Due to how empathetic she can be, she tries to understand and forgive people easily. This causes her to seem naive and easy to use.
4. Herself:
- Her word is her most important thing. Manon will never break her promises, and will do anything to keep them.
- As mentioned prior, other people can harvest or ‘borrow’ her energy / amplified aura for enhanced and stronger spells. However, the more energy drained, the more it tires out Manon.
5. Swordcane:
- Her main source of magic, and therefore if removed she would be powerless.
6. Dark Arts:
- Protection Barrier via Sigil: Her barrier can be shattered, and if the sigil is removed it'll be broken.
- Witch's Envy: Obviously, a potion needs ingredients, therefore it cannot be made without them.
- Val es my sayra: She sometimes lacks imagination, which might make it hard.
- Siren's lie: She does need the voice she wants to use as reference (recording or next to her) to be able to imitate it.
- Shield: Her shield will weaken if she isn't holding her sword or if she doesn't place a self sufficient sigil on it.
- Hex Sigil: She doesn't really have any places to use it on.

Friends:
Pre Academy:
Sean Mason (Ex boyfriend): Manon knows him since childhood, and deeply cares for him. The two get along really well and will protect each other no matter the cost. He’s one of the few persons that she trusts with her issues and regularly visits him in the library he works at. Juniper Rosemary Adams: Manon's former roommate prior to joining, Juniper is a design student, creating different outfits for a future brand she wishes to create. Many of Manon's outfits have been created by her. Manon and her talk to each other fairly often. Academy:
Mikhail Mathay: She first spent a day in the cafe with him, and later explored his dream powers in her sleep, and after Sean messed up his notebook, Manon felt guilty and wrote Mikhail a letter and bought him some pencils. They've hung out multiple times since. They had a recent experience where they visited Mikhail's dream realm, Eve of Uriel: Manon confronted Eve regarding the bar incident she thought the archangel had been involved in, and when she realized she was wrong, she did her best to apologize to her and promise to work together, alongside Kaze, to prove Eve’s innocence. Although they had a rough start, Manon really likes Eve and finds her to be a gentle and forgiving girl.Hjalnar Gixmiirik: Manon met Hjalnar one day in Metogul, accidentally running into each other and then spending the rest of the day together until he took her back to the academy. Because of Hjalnar’s impulsiveness when speaking, people mistook her as his ‘girlfriend’, which generated a small scandal in regards to the two and their relationship, which Hjalnar quickly dismissed. She believes he’s a very confident and fun guy to have around, and deeply enjoys his company. They have stayed friends and she's very happy to hear he's with Nefen.Gilbert: Gilbert and Manon bonded over classes and eventually over the Red Winter incident, both of them investigating clues in regards to who may be related to the crimes. Manon felt guilty towards the fact she was too late in talking to Genjy about Cillian, since Gilbert was wounded the same day she went to talk to the headmaster.Kaze: She hasn't really spoken much to Kaze, but considering he's dating Eve and how kind he seems, he's on a good page with her.Sebastian Brooks: Sebastian and Manon had a rough start, and she found him unbearing and obnoxious. However, a bit after a dinner and during their trip to hell she has taken note to the slightly less annoying side of him, and has figured she can stand him a bit more now. She still finds his comments bothersome, and has considered spraying him with holy water at least once.Inquinatus: Inquinatus at first was someone Manon slightly feared him, but slowly she warmed up to him and does care deeply about him. He has become her patron, which she's thankful for, and they both seem to have developed a trusting bond towards one another. He currently has aided her with learning new spells, which definitely is awesome in her eyes.Violet Hayes: Manon's roommate and close friend, they both hit it off from the get go. She finds him funny and interesting to be around, and does enjoy to spend time with her. Violet overall is someone Manon confides in frequently, and has fun spending time with.Sidney: Sidney and Manon haven't interacted much, but she has offered to be her test subject in exchange of favors, and he gave her her bottomless satchel.Barden de Leon: The TA of her house, she doesn't speak to him often, but does come to him whenever she's either about to do something dangerous (usually via e-mail), or is investigating magic (this is in person).Onyx Kaine: She's slightly afraid of him, mainly due to his very strict attitude (which she got the idea of because of the bar fight). So, even if he's not actually that scary, she does go stiff around him. Headmaster Dyansrhoggle: Even though she highly respects him as headmaster of the academy, she does feel upset over the fact he shut down her concerns in regards to Cillian. She tries not to blame him for the fact Cillian later went to hurt Gilbert, but at times she does.
Rivals:
Cillian Samhradh: She does not trust him, at all. Especially after the investigation where she discovered plenty of suspicious notes about him.
Crush: N/A
Relationship Status: Single
Sexual Orientation: ???? Possibly Aro or Demi
Physical Appearance: Manon has a small, slim body structure, and an oval/diamond shaped face. Along with that, she has some beauty spots on different parts of her body, such as her neck, belly button, and some others. Manon has small and delicate hands, rarely wearing rings and her nails usually being filed into an oval shape for easier use and with a french nail manicure. She has brown eyes, long and thick eyelashes, and bow-shaped lips. Most times, her face will be found covered by faint rosy blush on the tip of her nose and cheekbones, eyeliner, and chapstick or lip tint. She has pink (dyed) short hair, and although most people will see it as spongy or wavy, it's actually got curls, which she brushes off every morning. One of her hair strands is too short and falls over her eye most times, so she either clips it or blows it off with air.

Trivia - She’s right handed, but can do some things with her left (not write with a pen, random ones such as using two utensils with both hands, and has been able to write on a whiteboard with her non-dominant hand.)
- Manon is a Welsh & French feminine given name. Its meaning in Welsh is: 'beautiful queen' and in French, it is a diminutive of the name Marie.
- Manon is also diminutive of Madeline, and in welsh means 'Wished-for child'. An irony, as she wasn't wished.
- In fact, Manon may not know this, but her mother abandoned her the moment she was born.
- Noelle or Noëlle is the feminine form of the usually masculine name Noel. It derives from the old French Noël, "Christmas," a variant (and later a replacement) of nael, which itself derives from the Latin natalis, "birthday".
- So in a way, ‘Noelle Manon’ can mean ‘Birthday of the wished-for child’
- Her voice when singing is slightly hoarse, but she can do a bit with it. No intense soprano singing though, since she's a mezzo, but she knows how to falsetto.
- Her current voice headcanon, although it lacks the british accent, is Jessie Shelton (Link to a song of her singing HERE)
- She plays piano.
- She was born in Birmingham, UK. Her accent is very unique and slightly poshy.
- Manon dislikes getting drunk because of the hangover it'll give her the next day.
- Lazaro and her get along really well, and still facetime quiet often. The kid wishes to visit the academy one day, but Manon doesn't want him to in fear he'll cause her trouble.
- Her clothing varies a lot, but she's consistent in wearing skirts, as she loves the way the fabric twirls when she spins it. Her aesthetic fluctuates between vintage and dark academia (uses all subcategories of the aesthetic, but is mostly classic and light academia). She likes grunge, but doesn't think she'll be able to pull it off.
- As a teen, she’d wear fishnets, and attempted to pierce her lip and brow, she wasn’t allowed to so in the end she didn’t.
- Manon has a scar on her right shoulder blade from the time she fell from a tree and scratched herself. Since this was long ago, the scar isn’t that visible, but it’s still there.
- She scars very easily, and even if she didn’t touch the scar during the time it stayed on her skin, it’ll most likely leave a mark.
- Her beauty marks are on her shoulder, and near her left thigh.
- When in love, she'll first be infatuated and slowly become burnt out until she's uninterested in the relationship.
- As a kid until her mid-teens, she was anemic due to a lack of meat based diets that'd give her iron.
- She dyes her hair brown and her original hair color is blonde. She also takes time in the morning fixing her hair. Which, in fact, she trims herself.
- Manon always wears makeup. What she usually wears is blush, lipstick, and eyeliner. She however alternates the lipstick part between simply putting on chapstick or maroon lip tint.
- She's often found wearing heels, so although her height is 5'4, she usually stands at 5'6.
- Although she isn't fond of sports, she used to jog everyday and regularly used a bicycle.
- Manon likes roller skates and knows how to use them. As a kid she wished to be a professional ice skater. She quickly discarded this idea when she fell face-on to the ice and almost broke her nose.
- She can't skate. At all, no way. She also isn't good at basketball, baseball, and hockey. Personally, she’s indifferent to most sports, and doesn’t mind playing volleyball -but not a fan-.
- Her hair hasn't grown past her shoulders since she was 17.
