My entry for the June ArtTrade ats character Darius Seraph. A really great Design that lends itself to a lot of cool fighting poses. In this case I was inspired by Kalaripayattu since I was working on the Indian historical Disney Princess at the same time

Aaaaaaa, dude, this is so cool! Thank you so much for picking Darius-- I know he's got one of the most complicated outfits and that makes people more reluctant to draw him, but secretly he's my favorite grumpy asshole so seeing awesome art of him like this makes me super happy! You did such an amazing job, thank you thank you thank you!

The only thing that was tough was choosing the right background... thats the only thing I am not very good at ^^

Oh my god, I definitely feel you on the hair-- Darius is totally my secret favorite but I'm pretty sure the hair is like 90% of the reason I don't draw him more, haha! And backgrounds are always tough on a stretched-out pose like that where cropping is tough and there's so much negative space. A lot of the time I end up just putting some sort of graphic shape in the background, but what you did is totally beautiful and definitely a lot more high-effort, which I really appreciate you taking the time to do!
And yeah, I'd totally be down for a direct trade between us two! I'm working on an illustration comm right now that'll probably take me another day or two but I should be fairly free after that; we both seem to have kinda similar tastes in characters and I agree with the group about us being in a similar sorta skill bracket, so I'd love to! Are the OCs in your ref journal all viable options? I'd love to draw Utzuchisura

With my characters, honestly anyone you're comfortable drawing! All of my characters and their info/references/etc are on the site I had linked on the trade group ( fatelines.weebly.com/ ) so really it's totally up to you and what appeals most. It seems like you enjoy historic armor and I do have one character that kind of fits the bill in that regard, so that might be something you're interested in? He's in the 'more characters' section, name is Martin, and he was a First-Crusade foot soldier-- I'm not sure that his outfit is 100% accurate and it would have been a bit of a mish-mash anyways given that he sort of picked it up as he went along, so if you wanted someone in armor he's an option. Anyone is great though, and I can always give more info if needed too!

I'm fine with whatever sort of pose you prefer! To be honest he wasn't super heroic in the Crusades, he was only over there to try and make some money for the family and ended up going through some of the particular shitty parts like the Siege of Ma'arra so he was pretty disenchanted by the whole thing XD
And sweet, alright! I think I already have some ideas for her, I'll come at you with questions if need be!
