Pupupupupu~ My roomie told me to do this. She has very good ideas and should always be listened to when she speaks.

This was mainly for background practice! Makes it interesting for me when it's fanart clearly. What I mainly wanted to do with this was add as much extra detail as I could, and to get used to a slightly different way of drawing. I tried to get a bit more fancy with Zim's colouring and the three-point perspective threw me off a bit which is why he's a bit less polished than Dib.

With the top one I really wanted to push how predatory and maniacal Zim is, and to make him look RIDICULOUSLY alien in his costume, because it's so easy to forget that he looks weird when he's surrounded by so many disgusting children. I wanted him to really look like an alien in a paper-thin disguise, and I wanted him to look like the LAST person you'd want to put on a podium.

With the bottom one I just really wanted to draw Dib as adorable as possible. I always figured he'd look kind of bratty and Draco Malfoy-like if he were real because- let's be honest- he's a bit snotty. Also a little neglected and terrier-like. Also, I always draw him older whenever I have a go at him, so for once I wanted to get him looking twelve.

I'm really really trying to put more thought into what I draw so that I can get composition and colour and expression and stuff right when I'm NOT directly copying stills from cartoons.

(Dib is my absolute favourite character (Red is a close second).)
