Description Ron and Malfoy playing Hangman in Harry's copy of "Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them".

The idea for this ate my brain since a bought one of these little books, but especially since HBP. Finally, I had to drawn it, because it is just too crazy.

JKR wrote these books for "Comic Relief" between GoF and OotP. She describes the different magical creatures which often appear only in OotP and HBP. This foreshadowing is intriguing, but not only the creatures but also the scribbling in the margins by Harry (the owner of this book) and other people.

On the fourth page, Ron played Hangman against a rather nasty character, which is NOT Harry, because a) he has a completely different handwriting and b) he calls Ron "Weasley". The wanted word was "Acromantula", but Ron didn't guess it. Therefore, his opponent has drawn an exemplar attacking hung Ron and has written beneath: "You die Weasley". There is also other scribbling by the same person on this page: "Harry loves Moaning Myrtle".

I can't help but think that there were Ron and Malfoy abusing Harry's book…

The feathers they're using also have the colors of the Houses on them: The one in the ink bottle is Gryffindor, the one Draco is holding is Ravenclaw, the one Ron is holding is Slytherin, and the one Hermione is holding is Hufflepuff. Great job, by the way!

Considering the fact that all my HP books landed in the rubbish bin They really needed too much space ... and I was too lazy to transport such heavy books when I moved into a new flat, especially because I had a hard time to remember what happened in these books. Whatever had attracted me to the series died somewhere in book 7 and I can't remember what it was

I never thought about this scene... I'm glad I didn't, because I don't think I'd have pictured it like this, and this is perfect.

I'd liked to find a fic about such a scene, but because I'm not that much of a writer I had to draw it. But well, HP "died" for me with book 7. There is just so much stories you can read with the same characters before it gets boring and you need new stuff ...

There are some really good writers with original ideas. It's just hard to find them sometimes... And, a lot of people hated the 7th book. I guess it just didn't fit their expectations, or it wasn't what they wanted. Personally, I hated book 5, but liked them alright after that.

JKR definitely didn't met my expectations: Plagiarizing Tolkien and Lewis wasn't what expected. And her morals were disturbing.

But with "died" I mostly meant, that I've lost interest. I always knew that this would happen after book 7, because ... well, because I cannot keep reading the same book again and again for the rest of my life

I'd liked to keep the series in a good memory, tough. It's sad that I hated the book so much that I couldn't even get me to finish reading it.

You're right: Good writers are rare to come by. And if an author is successful, lots of other authors are "plagiarizing" it: Two days ago, I looked into the YA section of Barnes & Nobles and had to run away: Lots of books seemed to be *strongly* inspired by Twilight ...

But since I'm reading so many books, I'm bound to find an ingenious author from time to time

Would you mind clarifying what you mean about JKF plagiarizing Tolkien and Lewis? I've forgotten a lot of details from the last book, and I've only read the Hobbit out of Tolkien's stuff, though I have read the Narnia series. I don't actually think I noticed what her morals were in that book, either...

I understand about getting bored, though. I switch fandoms at random when one starts to get dull. That's why I don't get tired of them completely. And, it helps that I prefer character to plot, so unique takes on personalities or on character dynamics gets my attention.

...There has been an epidemic of vampire romance junk for teenage girls. I like vampires, but the main plot of a teenage girl falling in love with a dead guy that's probably a century or so old is kind of creepy. They shouldn't aim that at young girls...

Good luck with finding interesting and well-written books!

Hmm ... sometimes I'd like to read fanfic again, but I've never had any fandom but HP. HP was a great fandom because you had a lot of choicees and also adults writing fics. No matter how strongly I ship a pairing in canon, I never feel like reading a fic about it - particularly not if written by a 12 year old ...

If you are into unique takes on personalities ... maybe you can hep me out? Do you know great fics? I don't mind if I have to read canon first: I like book recs!

About HP: I don't remember the details ... but there was something about the Trio on a camping trip and nothing happening (booooring!) and a Horcrux with exactly the same side effects like in LotR: It was creepy. And the end of the book with Harry sacrificing himself, saving himself AND not dying was straight from the Bible. Or Narnia. But Lewis was decent enough to have a Lion impersonating Jesus ...

I noticed the writing difference. It is odd since it doesn't seem to match, but the dialog through out the book seems to point to it being theirs none the less. Nice idea, nonetheless.

Oh... umm... Hi. This is what happens when i randomly look up HP pictures while I can't sleep

It was probably someone who knew of his fear of spiders. ... Which could be the whole school... Though, I don't quite see the pygmypuff as a foreshadowing since it said that either Fred or Geroge, can't remember which, had used it for bludger practice. It could've more of a look at the past, one of the Weasleys younger. Forgive if I misspelled anything, I can't spell well...

I don't know--it seems to make no sense to use clearly different writings... and after HBP, I know that there is some foreshadowing in there: Someone whose writing appear nowhere else writes under "Pygmypuff" that (s)he possessed one of those. It must have been Ginny!

I mean, obviously it must not have been Malfoy who played Hangman against Ron, but it was neither Harry nor Hermione nor Ginny.

But i have the same books, and in one part harry calls Weasley to ron, ron write: "=Chudley Cannons=", and harry says " write the name of a better equip on mine book, weasley"....well.....the spanish version could be different? o.o
whatever...is a very good img! xD

periwinkle-blue In reply to HuronGirl [2006-11-10 13:35:38 +0000 UTC]

I know: "write the name of a better equip on mine book, weasley" is the same scripture like "Harry Potter"--but not the same like the scripture of the sarcastic person who played Hangman against Ron!

Harry's strange use of "Weasly" and the fact that he never had something against the Chudley's... IS strange. Maybe Someone imitaded Harry's scripture? I just know that in this book we have the scriptures of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and... someone else.

Oh, NO! I've done it wrong - In my imagination, Ron is right-handed and only very few characters left-handed.

Draco's a leftie tough. I'm very consequent to draw him left-handed and Harry right-handed (the last one is a canon fact after all), but now I've managed to do it wrong with Ron...

My language is primarly German, but I'm one of these lucky persons who are grown up bilingue (my mother's from the french part of Switzerland.) Allors, si tu veux, nous pouvons nous ecrire en français, mais comme j'ais fais tous mes écoles on Suisse allemande, mon ortographie française n'est pas la meillieure
