Manda: Dragons of the Eastern Seas

Design Aspect
I decided to draw Mandas as a pair since there are literally tens to thirty East Asian dragons. I believe that the idea of two Mandas came from a deviant but I am unsure who, since I decided that there are lots of Oriental dragons with similar looks and function compare to their western cousins with a larger variety of looks. The male Manda is based on the traditional East Asian dragon while the female is based more on Manda of the original series except the fins. I used a clipped art for the male Manda and samuraikaiju’s manda for the female with other deviarts’ depiction. The male have legs while the female have fins. I used darker colours for the male such as gold, darker green, red and orange while the female, littler shades except for her tail.

The Mandas have one power different from each other and are stronger when they are together.

Please note, I made a drawing mistake by drawing the female longer than the male when she is suppose to be about 15 feet shorter. But oh well, mistakes happens.

History
Dragons are sacred beasts in the Eastern Cultures and the Mandas are considered sacred dragons to the people of East Asia. East Asian worshiped and feared the dragon gods such as Seiryu, Ghidorah and the recently found, Mandas. Many depictions by the East Asians were benevolent and many different names are used such as Tianlong, Shenlong, Dilong, five colored dragons, Ryujin, etc. Many of these dragons are found throughout East Asia as well as Vietnam. Monarch initially had trouble giving Manda their names as they were going to be named Long or Ryu. But recent historical evidence had them as guardians of an unknown Kingdom now destroyed (sinked to somewhere in the bottom of Pacific Ocean) called them Mandas when translated to English. In the past, one of the Mandas was defeated by Ghidorah.

In the present, the male Manda was found hibernating in the North Pacific Ocean while the female Manda was found hibernating in the Philippine Sea. When Ghidorah called out to the Titans he defeated, the female Manda awoke and started to swim toward Taiwan where she caused chaos. The male was awaken by the calls of his mate but was extremely puzzled with her call as it sounded like rage and wrath than her common soothing nature. He burst out of the ocean where he was at and headed toward Taiwan where she was in. Seeing that she causes mayhem and destruction. Manda decided to stop her path of destruction knowing that she is controlled by a more powerful Titan than he is.

Powers and Abilities
Mandas are serpentine Titans similar to the depiction of oriental dragons. Both male and female differs in physical appearance as well as physical capability. While they bites and strangle/constrict their opponents, the male Manda can also use his horns and claws on his hands and legs while the female Manda has finned claws. While rarely used, both Mandas are able to use their tail for physical attack. The spikes on their bodies causes additional damage when they strangle and constrict their opponent.

Both Mandas has the ability to manipulate the oceans and weather but their manipulation is said to be slightly weaker than the more powerful ocean Titans when they are separated. While they can manipulate waters when they are apart but together, they creates water spouts and can cause heavy rain and drought.

The male Manda can manipulate wind and the skies. When together with his mate, he is also able to manipulate storms. While the female Manda is able to manipulate ice and the arctics. She can activate blizzards when she is together with her mate.
