Hmm... I do like the smaller critter. The big one isn't bad, but it seems that body type would be better suited for an ambush predator, something smaller that could dart out of fissures and spear prey. It doesn't seem like an animal that could go very fast at all out in the open...
Still looks cool, though!

Hmmm... Like I said, I am not really sure of the big one, I am not even sure if it'll make it through the "sketch phase" or not, there have been a nothion that the jaws "folded" this way look like something evolved from a walking leg, which rules it out of use in a creature that never had walking ancestors. I thought that once there are three basic "bones" or "segments" in the jaws, there is so many ways how they could be jointed, but this alone is visibly not "enough" to convince some people... Like I said, there is more uncertainties than certainties in this big creature...

Evidently... but it looks too cool to give up on entirely!

Maybe you're right... Do you think such a set of "limb-jaws" could be present in some secondarily aquatic creatures like: [link]
Also... I still have my doubts about the "dolphin..." Any suggestions how I could make it look more "different?"

I think the "limb-jaws" could work, no problem...
To make the dolphin look more "different" without going overboard... Perhaps a heavily downward-hooked "beak" would work, or more widely dispersed eyes (one pair on the top, one on the sides, one on the bottom), or "flukes" that work fish-style instead of cetecean-style?
...Just some ideas...

Yeah I know it's just that the prey that's shown bellow looks too me a bit large unless the shark tears it apart!

I actually really like the design of the larger creature. Maybe the little fins aren't actually for swimming, instead serving some sort of sensory function like a lateral line system.
You could just make all the fins equally long and turn it into an elongated anomalocaris-type animal.

That thing looks pretty cool though. I rather like the fins and plates

I like these two, the small one is abolutely fine, while I'm not really sure of the full-sized forefins of the big one.

well, the small thing is okay-ish I guess, but I'm still not sure about the predator at all.
The trick is, that the water inlet is behind the head, rather than in the mouth, and the outlets are firther back on the body, and also the openings aren't on the sides, but on the top and bottom. The same goes for the small one, even though it's not very well-visible... It still needs some thinking, so far it seems the inlet the first outlet are too close to each other, and I don't know what to do to change that. It's a pitty because I really thought it would be possible to keep the multiple slits in place. what bugs me even more is that I really liked the previous sketch much more thn this... =/
