Waiting a few more weeks later, still no sign of hospital letter arriving. Ling Ling had no choice but to phone up to find out what's happening with the appointment letter which suppose to come after 6 weeks. Not sure which telephone number to phone, she phones whatever telephone number on the last appointment letter and go from there. It takes ages to get connected and a person to answer the phone. She gets through to the booking and scheduling department, although not the right department but they can find out the information on their system.

Shockingly she finds out the appointment had been put down on the system as routine appointment for 12 months and not a follow up for 6 weeks which the Doctor did say. That must be mistake. That's just too long to wait especially medication given and completed within 2 weeks have no effect, her mum's mouth is still sore and red. Also the Doctor did say the medication will work and the sores will be gone but that didn't happen. The booking and scheduling department could not make appointment changes on the system so given the doctors secretary telephone number to Ling Ling.

Phoning the secretary number, it rings and rings, took more than five minutes until someone picks up. Ling Ling repeats the same explanation as she told the other department and waits for the secretary to find out on their computer system or somewhere. She waited a while on the phone hearing nothing but silence until a few minutes later. The secretary comes back on the phone and says that is too long to wait for a follow up and the earliest appointment they have is April but then says "oh, no wait. we have one tomorrow. can you come to that one?" But Ling Ling had no choice but to decline that appointment date... saying her mum needs an interpreter unless they 'the doctor/nurses' there allows her to translate but that's unlikely because of their rules "no family or friends are allow to interpret" The secretary understood and so April it is then. Ling Ling quickly tells her to also book the interpreter as well in Cantonese language as people always put down the wrong language. The Secretary even mentioned that Mandarin was put down as the langauge but she would correct it and change it to Cantonese. Ling Ling is rather annoyed, no matter how many times she tells them they always get the wrong langauge.

Now she has to remember to check this appointment again when the appointment date gets closer and phone again to double check if its correct. Hopefully everything stays the same. As well as that now she got other hospital referrals that have been waiting a really really long time too and no sign of hearing anything to find out what is going on...*sigh*...
