Sorry for the long post, but inspiration struckith!
Takane the octo –Idol from the moon
(Disclaimer I never played any of these games, probably wildly inaccurate characterization.)
(scenario 1)
Takane watched her new manager gape hand over mouth, at her. Not that she could blame the poor man , but she did ask that she not enter immediately after she took a bath. She had moved behind the wooden beam naturally fearing the terrified manager’s, reaction to her.
Honestly, it was a miracle that she was able to hide this for so long. She knew her life as an idol made her selling her image a basic part of the job, but this secret was not quite the wisest thing to make public. Her manager was staring at her lower waist, turned back into its natural form, resembling an octopus. Her tentacles extended in every direction a couple wrapping around the wooden beam on instinct, god she felt far more comfortable in this form, but she knew she couldn’t live the life of an idol like this.
She was glad that her new manager was not screaming, and that they decided to talk at her place, not the studio for what her new status working at 765 production meant. Deciding to take the initiative she slowly said,” it’s ok, don’t be afraid, I’m not going to hurt you.”
The manager put his hand down to his side, not taking his eyes from her octopus half, his expression changed from terrified to uncomprehending. Finally the manager spoke,” are you really from the moon?”
Takane totally should of seen this coming, one undignified eye roll later she remarked,” for all I know yes, but that’s not important, didn’t I say not to enter after I entered left the bath.”
She made sure to give a rather pointed look, she really needed to make sure this didn’t keep happening. Thankfully, the manager gave an ashamed look, “sorry force of habit, knowing the idols without the makeup was where I thought the best place to start from was.”
Takane sighed, and then spoke, “Ok I forgive you, do you mind if I explain while I fully dress up please.”
The manager nodded, and then mumbled,” Uh sure, could you explain… how exactly…”
“Why I’m a cecaelia?, well really I was born like this, I’ve been this way my whole life.” Stepping elegantly on her tentacles. Takane reached over to where her pants were then started heading over to behind a curtain.
Sitting down on a chair she brought her tentacles together into two ‘legs’, and then closed her eyes. Murmuring the magic incantation, she believed with all her heart her legs were human and put on her panties and pants. As she had done to the point of mundanity, she knew her human legs were there, and then walked back to her manager. He was struck dumb a second a second time by her human legs, something she as well found far more impressive. Smiling she simply asked “can we talk please?”
Five minutes later the manager had calmed down significantly, they were sitting on a nice couch although her parents were away, Takane would rather explain this with them. The first thing she said to him after getting him a glass of water was,” could you please keep that a secret.”
He blinked a few times, obviously overwhelmed and then said,” I’m not sure anyone would believe me anyway but, just… I.”
He then gave a hearty laugh,” Wow I thought you had a great future as an idol, but you could just become the most famous idol in Japan instantly.”
Takane Shijou stood up and stamped her foot, “No.”
Giving her manager her best glare she said,” I’ve admired this career since I could remember, I was one of those girls who always dreamed of being an idol. However I always wanted to be a human idol, I’ve gone far already I know, and I could instantly have the fame, but I want it on hard earned merits, not some superficial thing. I know the realities of the Idol business, how cutthroat it can get, all one has to sacrifice for the fame, how it is deep down a business. Yet I also know that a day, a week, a year, of unearned fame, would never be worth the consequences of betraying the trust of countless, and using an unfair advantage to get ahead of the competition, not to mention the giant consequences of such a reveal would have on Japan if not the world.”
Catching her breath she said,” My previous agency never knew, and I would rather quit the business than use it to cheat all the other girls who sacrificed so much for their dreams. Make no mistake I’m getting to the top, but not like that.”
She sat back down, and the manager sighed and said,” wow, you really are the most mature Idol in the business, ok I’ll keep you’re secret. I uh, suppose I should also do what I actually came here to do and help you get acclimated to us here 765. That uh spell… It’s not going to come off in the middle of a performance is it?”
She shook her head, knowing with long practice the exact requirements of such a thing.” That’s simply not possible, unless I will it.”
He smiled,” good, then I see no other reason that you can’t be a successful idol.”
Takane Shijou smiled, the manager happily discussing the aspects and dynamics of this particular idol company, energetic now that he was back on familiar ground. Despite the potential disaster, she was relieved and happy, the life reaffirming comfort of the company and understanding of humanity temporarily banishing that most lonely (possibly lunar) ocean that had haunted her for so long.
She hoped to make some friends here, even if she was always different. Yet Takane was confident she could get along fine with human Idols here. After all, what were the chances all the other Idols at 765 production happened to be all monster girls!
(a while later)
Takane looked at the 765 Idol crew her mind not believing what she was seeing, joining the Idol slumber party seemed like a great idea to know everyone, and she loved crowds. Nevertheless, she hadn’t expected this, a room full of fellow ‘humanly challenged girls’, looked back at her in shock as well. “Oh my God”, someone said.
soon enough a sheepish Ritsuko slithered up to her, the lamia shaking with embarrassment and shame. “This is uh… A monster themed slumber party… I see you didn’t get the memo…”
Ritsuko tried to explain away everything, her forked tongue that poked out multiple times during the explanation not helping. Causing Takane to fall on the floor laughing, her eyes watering and herself to completely drop any sense of dignity and she laughed harder than she ever had before in her life. Getting up to some fretting and curious girls she smiled with her best Idol smile,” don’t worry girls, could you give me the bathroom I need to get changed into the proper attire.”
The laughter was infectious, and most pleasing to her ears.
Soon enough she joined the crowd, deciding to thank whatever deity that caused this giant coincidence.
