I just started making plushies myself after all those great works I saw on DA, but I'm bad at matching the characters haha xD
I just read your hair tutorial, and I'm gonna use it to remake the hair of my otani doll xD but I was hoping you could help me with these questions
1. The last picture of the first row, what kind of material did you use for the clothing?
2. What material do you usually use to make clothes? Cause I usually use felt, but I like the clothing of your dolls much more xD do you just make them wear the same materials as they're wearing in the anime/manga?
3. How do you make hair in one piece, like your chihiro plush? Cause I tried it, but when you look at it from above it's really ugly
4. What do you use to make the mouths? xD
I know these are a lottttt of questions, but I hope you can help me cause I think you're really great xD

Hi, sorry for the late response. For clothing, I try to use cute-fuzzy stuff like flanelette, deersuede, craft velour, fleece, but I use EVERYTHING from cotton broadcloth, to satin, to pleather, to corduroy, etc. I also sometimes cut up some old sweaters, shirts, jeans, and etc. Really, just look around and if it looks good, try and see if it can work on the plush.
But my advice on fabric is to generally go for stuff that's thin, flexible, and least-fraying possible.
Chihiro's hair wasn't only in one piece; that was the look I was going for (because miyazaki drew her like that), but it's mainly her bangs that were in one piece, and then her other strands and ponytail were composed of many layers. I don't know what to suggest; I just cut at random and make it look good. ^^:
The mouths are just drawn with a thin-pointed sharpie. Or if they're opened-mouthed/grinning, I paint it with acrylics.

The only thing I really ponder about is how you make the heads.. Haha

It's amazing how much detail you put into your plushies. Like I especially like the checkered design you put into Wesker, it really shows your dedication to your work.

Nope, they get along just fine. Though an unfortunate event for a possible photo shoot with a voodoo theme has just occurred, his foot decided to up and fall off.

I really liked Noir and Pearl too! The commissioner was the one to design those characters; she has quite the eye for fashion.
