Yes I have noticed the differences and yet in some areas they look remarkably similar. Your desert has a great many trees where we have scrub brush and dwarf trees. We have cactus folks mistake for trees like the Joshua Trees which area more cactus than tree. I think we have more natural springs than your desert, not a lot but they are there if you know where to look. problem is with the air so dry the water tends to evaporate before it has a chance to form a stream.Β

I enjoyed seeing the native cacti ... they don't exist here (southern Brazil). Great shot.

Yeah, California is huge. I got to see the entire San Joaquin Valley. I also got to play some really nice pipe organs while there.

The ones I am referring to are the movie palace organs.
Even the little ones are giants.
The big ones are very intimidating.

The power is incredible, since low C on the pedal keys pipes that are sixteen feet long. THese produce a wave of about 16Hz. It can shake a building. One must exercise caution when playing the larger pipes as to avoid resultant harmonics that can actually do damage. No other music instrument possesses the sheer volume, texture, or range of the mighty movie palace organs. They can take you places without leaving your seat. I would say from experience that sitting on that bench is a very profound feeling. It's like flying a 747 solo.
