I think it's been about a year since I attempted doing realism with my characters!
Might as well do a realistic ibs then!I really hope he looks 11... because I have no idea myself.
Hehe this kind of thing makes me laugh because I look at this and I immediately recognize it as ibs. But compared to my usual style this isn't even close-
Feel free to give critique and advice on the realism aspect! Because Gosh I'm inexperienced.

He looks nice! I really love the shading on this one; it's really realistic.
I think he looks older than 11, though. His face shape and nose structure are pretty similar to mine, and I'm a 17-year-old girl. (Some people have been surprised I'm that old, though, so maybe he only looks 14-ish?) I think that 11-year-olds usually have a less prominent nose bridge, more like how you usually draw his nose:
So that is the only critique I am intelligent enough to offer.

I guess I should have taken my liberties with it a bit more- I was drawing the nose from a reference.

Looks of the appropriate age . Quite girly but mostly for the hair. I just mentally cut his hair to half and he looks like a pretty pretty boy.

Bits and pieces of this was improved by fishing for some realism tutorials.. working each feature individually.

I really like it but he looks like a girl kinda, in your other drawings of him I can tell but not here, the instinct is for girl but that isn't a real problem tho, I really like the way you did his hair I can really feel the flow Β I like the painting overall and of course the obvious slight changes to the anatomy of the face that comes from improvement can make him better but asides from that I don't really think anything is wrongΒ Β (lol why am I putting this emoticon her XD)

Yeah! Although I have to say this kind of work felt a whole lot different from my typical "photorealist" work. Probably because It was a hybrid of the two (Realism and my typical style).
