It's so strange to see a waterfall right at the sea's edge.

nice slow shutter shot! I think that it could use some more contrast/brightness adjustment on the lower part though.

I know... the bright sky takes over the picture, and it made all the rest a bit darker. Thanks for the comment

IΒ΄ve got lucky in this one... the wave crashed against the platform and the effect plus slow shutter speed was great. Thank so much

I love the composition. The rocks, the falls then the sky build the image in layers which works well. Lovely subject matter. One thing for me though is that blown out sky, lets the shot down for me as its a rather harsh change between clouds and white. But good job otherwise

PhilipMatthews In reply to iamgoatman [2007-02-15 19:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Many people think thatΒ΄s photoshop on the clouds.. but it isntΒ΄t... The greay sky contrasted with the dark clouds, and the apperture I used, make it look like its white, the filters like the ND4 helped to saturate the clouds a bit. Thanks for the nice comment and support.

greenandyellow [2007-02-10 18:35:36 +0000 UTC]

This is really incredible.. Somehow the falling water looks more like solid than liquid, some kind of cloth, satin maybe. One can really sense the power and the movement in this shot.

I like those long-exposured-water-pics, your's great.... But it would be perfect if you had handle the contrast better (light sky, shadow foreground).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PhilipMatthews In reply to cody29 [2007-02-01 17:23:56 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much... long exposures with ND filters are always dificult to predict how they will become... and we dont get to do it again because a moment like this is almost unique... maybe some other day when the sky has less or more clouds IΒ΄ll try it again..

fantastic! great movement in the water fall. i am a little distracted by the blown out sky, but at least its not too overpowering, as not allow the beautiful waterscape to be enjoyed.
