That's amazing! Out of all of the animal realism sculptures on deviantArt, I would definitely say that this is one of the top jobs (he's a cutie pie, btw).

I use Citadel Purity Seal - it's pricier than brush on, but I like the smooth finish it gives. I can't find a brush on one that doesn't feel tacky after a while either.
