Hang on, did I actually draw something I said I was going to draw? *angels sing from above*Been reminiscing on this beauty of a drawing: [link] which I think has got to be one of the most epic pieces in my gallery for a variety of reasons including the fact that I'm pretty sure I copied it straight out of the manga yet I still managed to make it look that bad.
S'yeah have some new, improved!Kyo. This picture went really well for me, so well in fact that I felt a bit like adding a background... but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Kyo, you can sit on my signature for now. Hope it's comfy.
Confession time: Despite starting Fruits Basket 5 years ago (my first mango), I have yet to finish it. I will at some point, I swear....

I never watched through to the end of the Fruits Basket anime, I only saw the first season. I might see it this summer though, I'm planning to finally finish reading the manga, anyway!

Ah, I see~ I can't read manga or watch anime unless I know it's finished these days, I can't wait for new chapters or episodes, I just become really depressed and lose interest.

Same here, I've jumped into a few animes which had a few episodes yet to air and managed to hang in there, but I find it difficult to start right from the beginning of a season and continue following along to the end- it better be good in that case x)

Oh gosh it's been a while since I've read fruits basket, but I think that pose captures Kyo so well. If remember correctly he tended to be grumpy/sulky, and for good reason. Nice line work and coloring. I especially like his hair and the details in his trousers. And I appreciate the texture of his shirt. While it sort of seems like he's wearing a glittery shirt, I get what you're going for. Kudos on the texture--it adds interest.

Thank you! Yes, he is a bit of a grump. Glittery, huh.. haha, I'm not very familiar with applying texture, so I suppose the way I put the shadow on there does make it look glittery. I'll have to try out different combinations. But glad you think it adds interest!

Nono the shadow's fine. In fact, that gradient shadow's pretty sweet. If I had any say, keep doing it.
The texture itself... how'd you do it? It looks like you added noise or something.

Ah I see, hmmmmm I don't know if you'd be averse to using pattern fills, but that could be something you could look into. I've seen plenty of nice downloadable patterns online, but you can most certainly go ahead and make your own.

Oh my god...Fruits Basket. I haven't finished reading it either. To be honest, I lost interest when all of the characters started to look the same (around Vol. 12, maybe? Or was it 20?). Anyway, when I stopped being able to tell them apart, I just couldn't read anymore.
This is quite nice though.

I have noticed the art style in the later volumes starts to look a bit more generic, not really sure what happened (I'm quite fond of the original style)!

Oh my god, I've actually been thinking of drawing Kyo myself for the longest time (because he was my first manga crush ehe) and seeing this is really great! I love how you captured his personality in the body language and facial expression. You should really finish the manga though. /pokes
