Description Same title as [link] by because, even if the subjects are completely different, the concept behind is just the same: a bunch of lines starting from the same point and escaping to different directions. (coxi has been banned, so both of the links there will not work..)
I see it also like an "explosion" for the same reasons, but I think that a title like "Explosion" wouldn't work as well...
I rotated (90Β° CCW) the image and turned it b/w to make the observer concentrate on lines, making the original subject (the street) less obvious.
Hope you like it and sorry for my english...

Took durin a night photo session with ,

Great photo, I like the idea. I like it that the lines all go their own way. I also like the contrast and the little stars

I adore the texture of the tarmac.

Rotating it has made this incredibly abstract. Fabulous.

Draith [2005-09-27 15:28:14 +0000 UTC]

You succeeded in making the subject less obvious. Had it not been for the DD feature saying to look twice, I wouldn't have right away, and would have taken a while to see the road!!
I love the way this moves, almost like a swirl... my eyes really do follow the lines, and that title is very fitting, I think!
The bend to this helps, not just the angle. Are those street lights? Or are they star shapes from a program... I wasn't sure... I like them, though. It's a shame your shadow is in the shot, but it's not very distracting, unless one was to look for it.
Anyways, really great photo! Congrats on the feature.

They are street ligths.
It's true about the shadow, I don't like it, but it was impossible to avoid it
Thanks alot for the comment

I had the same problem (well, similar) in a wildlife picture of mine from Mt St Helens... My own shadow dominated most of the shot, unavoidably... it ticked me off. *sigh*
That's cool that they're streetlights looking like that.

This photo is just something else, totally great idea, and turning the photo left was just a great idea which came out brilliantly.
Absolute kudos to you my friend, and the lights a brilliant too.

cranial-bore [2005-09-27 11:19:13 +0000 UTC]

Great shot. The angle changes the composition totally, it takes an effort to identify exactly what's in the shot.
I love the way the lights came out looking like simple vector graphics too.
The lines also give great movement. I wonder what an artifically coloured version with bright colours on the various 'stripes' would look like?

Well done
