Kudos to the guy on the mountain bike. I've ridden up many beams and logs in British Columbia, North Shore and it's not as easy as most people believe or want to believe; nor is it any better going back down in reverse. XD
Awesome photo, although I'm having trouble seeing how people are saying that this photo is surrealistic when nothing in it says to me its "odd" or "dreamy" like in one of Salvador Dali's seriously odd and dream-like paintings (ie. [link] ), I'd say your photo is more minimalistic than anything else.
kinda makes me wonder if people know what they're saying or even know anything about artistic movements for that matter. :

Looks as if the bike is locked into place, check under the tires.

Not likely, the rear tire is compressed and all the weight is there, also notice how the man has his arms and legs positioned as well as the low gear ratio's on the rear hub. He's either trying to keep his balance or is still moving forward, surely he's having a difficult time because he doesn't have enough momentum and his foot placement is a little off. But your not wrong either, the bike could be locked into place too and a few people on the other end are holding him up, the man still has to balance the bike a little.
Seems like a lot of work for a simple picture.

I just find it to be to much of a coincidence that there are 2 protrusions stemming from the barrel/pipe right underneath his tires. On the back tire you can even see the tip of, what i believe to be, the left supporting clamp. If his balance and foot placement seem off to you, that could just be good instructions from this great photographer, to add more realism.Β

how very odd. a man in a wetsuit is balancing a mountainbike on the muzzle of an artillery gun in a field above a fellow in a suit.
I can't help but wonder how hard it was for him to balance and how many times he fell.
