Description I done drawed me a Fraggle Rock. A Gobo Fraggle Rock.

My scanner died so I used my brother's. The colors came out highly vibrant compared to the original. Someday I may try to make/achive a more accurate scan.

* A few minutes later * OH! I know what this looks like, it looks like a color copy from Kink-Os. The main thing bugging me about this is that the background came out much too yellow. Other than that, I'm pleased. I do like how the scan accentuated the purple.

11/5/12 Rescanned.

Nice drawing of Gobo. I'm sure Red would say he's quiet a stud.

by any chance do you have Microsoft Office?
if you do I'd suggest tryin' the "Auto Correct" feature in the "edit picture" section in Microsoft Office Picture Manager

it works well for me when the colors get set super high in my game and i need to tone em down

I don't think I have that. But, I've got a new scanner since I scanned in that Gobo so stuff should come out a little better now. I sort of like the colors on that one though.

Did it turn out well? I've a got a few larger pictures that I've been thinking about having photographed so I can put them here. It's either that or take them to get reduced prints made.

I love your drawings of Gobo. I work at a Jim Henson exibit at a museum, and they have me working mostly in the Dark Crystal/Fraggle Rock room, where Gobo and Cantus greet me every day!

Gobo has totally won my heart, *sigh*

Phraggle In reply to Merry-Muse [2008-04-09 23:06:52 +0000 UTC]

Can you get photos of them?

Ogh! And thanks too! Glad you like them. Gobo is my favorite character of... like almost everything.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Merry-Muse In reply to Phraggle [2008-04-10 04:47:10 +0000 UTC]

Sadly, they don't allow any photography. They even make me watch for camera phones n' such. I nearly cried when I realized I couldn't photograph Kira's dress and Gobo and Cantus.

However, I have completely covered my tour guide script with sketches of them. Muahahaha!

You're very welcome! I love all the Fraggle Five, but Gobo and Wembley are my favorites. Gobo expecially...he always seemed like this kindhearted dreamer with a level head to me, totally hug-worthy. And Wembley's just plain cute, and he sometimes reminds me of me .....I'm a bit flakey, heh.

Phraggle In reply to Merry-Muse [2008-04-10 22:54:26 +0000 UTC]

Why won't they allow pictures? That would drive me crazy if I went to see them.

Yeah, I kinda fell for Gobo upon sight. That show has everything.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Merry-Muse In reply to Phraggle [2008-04-13 23:06:19 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunatly, everything at the exhibit is under strict copyright. It was a pain in the butt just to get everything from all the different folks who own it, apparently. We weren't able to get anything from The Labyrinth.

And yeah, it does drive me crazy, not being able to really get anything solid to keep with me but my sketches and memories. *pouts* I did collect all the articles and flyers we have, tho. I'm going to have my aunt help me make a nice framed collage of them. ^^

And yeah, me too! I think I was too young to remember a lot of the show growing up, though I do remember liking it. It was when the exhibit opened and I saw Gobo and Cantus for the first time that I really thought, "Wow...that guy looks like such a neat character!"...and the memories came back to me that I started re-watching Fraggle Rock on YouTube, and fell in love all over.

It's hilarous to me how much Wembley's indecision is like my own at times. It drives my poor friends crazy. Gobo's both level-headed and kind at once, so he really appeals to me. Plus, he can play a mean three stringed guitar.

Phraggle In reply to Merry-Muse [2008-04-14 10:57:34 +0000 UTC]

Are there pictures in the fliers? I've got a whole bunch of fraggle scraps in my collection.

I think the first time I saw Gobo was in the episode where Junior tried to blow up the Rock. I can't think of the title at the moment. Then I just kinda drooled over the few pictures I could find of him in some old Muppet Magazines I had and it just kinda went from there.

You're a wembler! I think most people are at times.

Merry-Muse In reply to Phraggle [2008-04-14 20:58:40 +0000 UTC]

There is one Fraggle photo in the flyer, but unfortunately it's not very good, and rather small. I may scan it anyways, just for you. ^^

[link] This is the official web page of the exhibit, and though there aren't any Fraggle shots on it, it has a podcast and a few neat tidbits.

[link] You probably already have this link, but I thought I'd put it up for you anyway. These are the best Fraggle pics I've ever found online. One of them is my desktop. :3

I loved Gobo's look when I saw the puppet, but when I saw the clip from the theme song on the museum's Jim Henson documentary and heard him go, "whoopeee!," I couldn't help but find him adorable. I had the sudden urge to pick him up, cuddle him and smooch him on the nose, but I think he might take offense to that. Wembley might not mind, though. The little guy seems to be the huggable type. ^^

The only thing I can't stand is when I'm online and some overzealous fangirl/boy decides to "claim" one of the characters I'm fond of, stating things like "OMG U Can't hav him hez mine!!!11!." The main thing that bothers me about it is that they're basically saying that these wonderful creations are theirs (and only theirs) to love and enjoy.

And yes, I'm definetly a wembler at times! I love that word. It should be in Websters or something, if it isn't already.

Phraggle In reply to Merry-Muse [2008-04-14 21:58:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'd like to see the flier.

Those are nice pictures too. They look like the ones from this year's fraggle calendar.

Gobo's just perfect to me. Great voice. He gets a lot of the good songs too. And he wears a vest.

Yeah, I know about " claiming ". I think it may be why I have such a massive fraggle collection. The thing is, there's enough for everybody who wants Gobo or Jojo or whoever they want. I kinda realized that we or I just have to allow ourselves to have them... if that makes sense.

Merry-Muse In reply to Phraggle [2008-04-15 04:37:26 +0000 UTC]

I'll see if I can get it scanned then. ^^

There's a Fraggle Calendar? O.o Woah...I want.

I like Gobo's voice too. It's fun and folksy and makes me happy. Squee. Oh, and I know what's in his vest!!! Doozer sticks, a coil of wire, a postcard from Uncle Travelin' Matt, and...well...more Doozer sticks...I think Gobo likes to snack a lot.

And yeah, that makes sense to me. ^^

Phraggle In reply to Merry-Muse [2008-04-15 22:55:47 +0000 UTC]

A coil of wire! I've always wondered about that!

Yeah, they've done a few fraggle calendars. They skipped '07 but got an '08 one for us.

A spool of wire does sound like something handy for an explorer to carry around, huh?

I'll have to look around and see if I can find one of those calendars sometime. ^^

I have the the prototype for an un-produced Gobo action figure. Now that I think of it, I think he has the coil of wire too. I don't touch him much because he's very fragile.

Amazon may still have the calendar available.

Merry-Muse In reply to Phraggle [2008-04-16 03:50:06 +0000 UTC]

O.o Holy cow, they were going to make action figures? How in the world did you manage to get that prototype? *wow, I really sound like a nerd now* XD

Ooh, have to check that. Thanks! ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phraggle In reply to Merry-Muse [2008-04-16 23:18:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, do you remember those insanely detailed Muppet action figures from a few years ago? That company, Palisades, was going to slip a Gobo figure into the Muppet line to see how well he sold because the retailers wouldn't support a Fraggle Rock line of action figures because they didn't know what it was. So, they did a Gobo prototype and then Disney bought the rights to the Muppets and that screwed up the whole thing. On that company's webpage, they wrote a " things that almost happened " article about the Gobo figure with some pictures ( of which I printed up & drooled over for a while ). Then, like a year later, the figure showed up on eBay and I made this crazy offer that I'd draw pictures of anything desired if some one would win that figure for me. A guy I know took me up on that. Now I have the figure and I'm still in his debt. He's the nicest guy in the world so I'm really blessed in this happenstance.
