Holy wow, this is incredible.
There's something especially magnetic about those eyes here. I am instantly drawn to them. Maybe it's just my freckle weakness acting here, so well done completely exploiting that. The ornamental dots over her eyelids are really effective, and I really like that bindi. It kind of reminds me of my sister who's got something of a natural one (a souvenir from chicken pox). And you made the hair perfectly balanced between melding into a solitary inky mask, and separating into whispy strands, as it flows about in the ocean's current.
As eyecatching as the subject here is (and that's with her largely concealed in the image!) The setting is also magnificent. The translucent seaweed looks really cool, as do the two different sorts of barnacle in the foreground, and I just love those bubbles floating around with their wavy lines breaking up their spherical forms, and the great Mario-style mountain structures that fade into the deep blue ocean depths. And those jellyfish, I absolutely adore. I can only describe them as looking like all the best parts of lemon meringue pie, jello, muffins, and tiger tail ice cream all incorporated into one super cute, but deadly creature. I just love them.
They do make me wonder: is this young lady in a search for their cousin, the jelly accountant?
This masterpiece cannot be passed up for a favourite! Very well done!

I really love this! So many awesome textures, colors and interesting marks on the rocks and seaweed! Somehow I'm more interested in those things than the figure...and that rarely happens. :3

I was having a lot of fun drawing the plant life rather then the mermaid.
The mermaid, every thing just came naturally and with out to much focus.
