Well what do you know, two illustrations in a row. So I decide to post up early this time since I'm going back to school tomorrow and wanted to get this up as soon as possible. Slight mistake I made here, notice I put 1's cape on to early. I'm so use to drawing him with his cape on that it didn't occur to me that he didn't have it on just yet. So...Whoops! Oh well.
I never did believe for a sec that these guys would stay dead forever, since... Ya know...THEY'RE RAG-DOLLS!!! Plus with the movie being left for interpretation, it's easy to come up with your own ideas as to what might happen next. Finally! We get to see these little guys all together now. Not to mention seeing 9 make amends with 2 here. I just could resist the moment these two began to hug. How so sweet. Just love how forgiving 2 is towards 9. (A lot more than his fans, thats for sure.)

Oooh, Piddies. This just feels so....genuine. The relief and happiness 9 is looking and feeling by being forgiven by his first friend, and 2's absolute love for the younger. Everyone's smiles, even 1's sort of stand-offish one and pose (and don't you worry about his cape, he looks naked without it). You've done just beautifully in capturing everyone's personalities in this one piece. I love how they're all watching 9 and 2's reunion, as if looking to a peaceful future and seeing how 9 was forgiven (though we both know how this is going).
And with your mentioning of the end being left up for interpretation, I basically started planning Savior directly after my first viewing. The ideas just flooded forth, and well, nearly six years later, this is kinda what's happened with that, ha-ha. Besides, I wanted to explore what their dynamic would have been if they had all been together, as nine.
And may I mention how 8 is fucking adorable in this one?

This was a lot of fun to make. I had been looking forward to this piece. I wanted 9 and 2 to have this moment, since I rarely see fan art of these two. At least not in a positive light... It's a joyful moment so SMILES ALL AROUND! Including 1. I don't think 2 would ever hold a grudge against 9. I'm sure he knew 9 didn't mean it. Plus 2 was always the forgiving, positive type.

And I still think you did pretty well at devoting this story in relation to the movie. A lot better than what I had.

I think that's my favorite aspect of this piece. I really liked writing 9 and 2's relationship, and tried to show that 9 wants to get closer to 5 and 2 and join in what they do, but doesn't quite know how yet, and 2 feels he's got another son. And Piddies, you're always far too kind, but it just makes my heart soar to hear what you have to say.
8 is still adorable.

I loved writing that aspect of the story, because I, too, have felt that myself. 9's just got to get over some obstacles first (and I'm so sorry for the late reply, I got the flu)

Yeah, since he did awaken way after the war and they had no idea he existed until that day he awakened. And he was still learning about the world. That is true about 2, unless he's finally pushed to his limits if someone, especially 1, goes too far hurting the ones he loves.
