Description On 1 February 1958,the UAR was created when a group of political and military leaders in Syria proposed a merger of the two states to Egyptian President Abdel Nasser. Compared to OTL,this union was of an federal one, instead of the total merger that happened OTL. Syria was much happier with this proposal, and the UAR managed to last much longer. This co-operation would result in a victory in the war aganist Israel, ending the state. Almost all of the Jewish population was evacuated to Europe or the United States. This victory helped cement the Pan-Arab thought, making Arab leaders much more susceptible to the idea of Pan-Arabism. Fast forward to 1974,Muammar Gaddafi's proposal for the merging of Tunisia and Libya was accepted, thanks to the success of UAR. In the next decade, states such as Jordan,Algeria and Sudan would be incorporated to either UAR or AIR. However, with the establishment of two states claiming Arabia, many began to worry about potential conflict that may emerge from two rival Pan-Arab states. Nasser's death in 1970 put the Arab Islamic Council in charge of the country, which had diverged from Pan-Arab thought considerably, defiling Nasser's thought, which contradicted AIR's implementation of Pan-Arabism. Fortunately, these worries would be swept away in 1988,as Iraq under Saddam Hussein triumphed over Iran, which had received enormous amounts of aid from both AIR,UAR and the West. However, the war could be considered as a phyrric victory with casualties being extremely high. Saddam Hussein lost much of his power on the country, accepting unification with the UAR in the same year the war was won after being coerced by an officer clique. Gaddafi saw the victory of Pan-Arabism inevitable, and concluded that the differences between AIR and UAR could be ignored for the sake of unification. Mauritania was "admitted" after an referendum, which was notorious for high voter suppression and intimidation. On the year 1991,after the collapse of USSR,UAR stands as the main socialist power, other than China. The events that took place withn the Eastern Bloc made many suspect that the same might happen withn UAR itself. South Sudan is restless, reminding of The Troubles in Northern Ireland. Will Pan-Arabism survive,or will it be reduced to a footnote withn history?

Because in real life it had the same kind of red, white and black flag with green stars (just one) as Iraq and Syria.
