The way I see it, Sarah and Erik are already close friends at this point. If they weren't, I doubt Sarah would trust him enough to leave him alone with a tranced Christine.
And I love that Erik would keep all three promises. Those two really are partners-in-crime.
Dammit. Now I want a story arc where Sarah and Erik plan a robbery/heist together.
I love Sarah's raised eyebrows in Panels 8 and 10. Sarah treats the homicidal opera ghost with a lot more respect than she treats the Goblin King. This ES not-bromance is my favourite relationship of the GND series.

I discovered the Phantom when I was 12 and I couldn't help but fall in love with the book and Erik. Growing up, I loved the goblin king, but when the movie come out I questioned who I liked better.....Erik or Jareth.....I didn't know until I saw the Phantom on stage. This whole midnight-music-seduction thing for Erik I would not mind one bit. I should be a ashamed but I'm not......

He does, Erik and his bedroom I mean. Stage, screen, book, whatever; his boudoir pwns most others. Not sure if I'm a fan of the coffin in the book though; it's a little melodramatic, even for me. I wouldn't mind if he lured me there with his music either.

Oh my...Erik's face on the seventh panel...And the second-to-last for that matter. I suppose when placed right beside the tricky Goblin King I began to forget his own villainous qualities. Which is strange, considering that in canon, he's the one who committed all those murders (while Jareth threatened goblins with a terrible bog of stench). As strange as it sounds, I like this side of Erik from time to time...it's refreshing. (Considering playing music is all he's planning to do, that is.)
I have to admit, I'd give Sarah a bad roommate award in this instance. Though I suppose nothing really bad is going to happen to Christine.

Although if it's any comfort, he is far too much of a gentleman to do anything other than play beeyoutiful music and sing his sad love to her and she just wakes up with a headful of bittersweet dream-memories.
Granted, by 1900s' standards that makes Chris a ruined woman - but the PotO's cast has updated their mentalities a tad by the time of this comic.
And the Dude, Not Cool aspect of the issue IS addressed much later in-comic.
