It's been so long since I've drawn something ( I need to finish that Negima and Evangelion crossover pic, it's still only half inked!) Anyway, I finally got around to drawing my npc/secondary character from the Zoids RP, Zoids: Wild Frontiers (z7.invisionfree.com/Zoids_Wild…

My primary character, Luc Anderson, will come later, but Kat here is a bit more interesting IMO.

Her backstory is also a bit crazy (and sad and twisted, but she's in a much better place in her life now)

Anyway, here's the bio I wrote for her:

Name: Katherine “Kat” Blakeborough

Hair: Redhead
Identifying Marks: Small, slit-shaped scar on her right forearm from where the microchip Desmond implanted in her was removed.

Zoid(s): Shield Liger Leomaster "Dakota", Diablo Tiger "Hobbes"

Overall Appearance:
Kat is a slender, graceful girl of average height, her fair skin accenting her long, fiery red hair and deep sapphire eyes very nicely. Blakeborough wears her hair loose, usually letting it fall straight to just below her shoulder blades, but she will tie it back into a ponytail when convenient (the band with which she does this is usually on her right wrist). Kat’s standard attire consists of a black shirt that has long, lime green sleeves that extend just past her elbows. Her outfit is rounded out with a pair of dark blue jeans, and black & white tennis shoes. She carries a 9mm pistol in a holster on her right leg.

Overall Personality:
Kat is well meaning, but with a temper that makes her a very good example of the fiery redhead trope. Despite said temper, she is actually a very gentle, caring, and outgoing individual (Until you piss her off). She was deathly afraid of Desmond, who tried to brainwash her into being one of his mindless concubines, almost to the point where she was immobilized in his presence.

To a point, Desmond’s brainwashing was successful, and its latent effects caused her to react to certain code words, a fact that she hated and feared about herself, but they eventually faded away.

Kat absolutely hates being addressed or referred to as “Kitty”, except by certain individuals, mainly her late father and Lucas Anderson of the Lionhearts. She lets Luc get away with this, only smacking him up the backside of the head, but she may get so furious with others that she will slap them across the face. However, this name is generally the only thing that snapped her out of one of her ‘episodes’ triggered by a code word.

She is constantly quarreling with Claire Lange, one of the other girls that Desmond had taken, though most people can see that the two girls are good friends.

Like quite a few pilots, she views Zoids as partners, not mere machines. Due to this, she shares a close bond with any and every Zoid that comes into her possession, though she is especially close to Dakota.

Likes: Zoids, being amongst friends, animals.

Dislikes: Being called “Kitty” by most people, the latent effects Desmond’s brainwashing had on her, and Pierce Snipers.

Fears: Desmond, being robbed of free will.

Strengths:

-Survival Sense: Kat’s sense of survival and self-preservation is so strong that it miraculously helped her escape Desmond’s grasp and push on deep into the Freedom States.

-Intellect: Kat has proven to have a very good head on her shoulders, capable of picking up on the concepts of new things rather easily.

Weaknesses:

-Fear: Kat sometimes lets her fear control her, immobilizing her, robbing her of all confidence, or causing her to make unintelligent decisions.

History:
Katherine Blakeborough’s roller coaster ride of a past began in Redgate, Adamas, where she was born to loving parents of the middle class. For a while, they were a happy family, until Mrs. Blakeborough fell ill and passed away when Kat was a mere three years old, leaving Mr. Blakeborough to raise his daughter alone. Kat was very close to her father, who often called her “Kitty”.

Mr. Blakeborough worked at a local Zoid factory for the Adamas military, so Kat learned to know Zoids quite well through him. For a long while, things were good, maybe even great, until one fateful day. Kat, a senior in high school at the time, got a call from her father’s employer. Apparently, a Pierce Sniper that had just rolled off the assembly line suddenly went berserk, destroying much of the facility before finally being subdued. There were several casualties, including her father.

With nothing left to keep her in Adamas, Kat felt she didn’t belong there anymore and left soon after she graduated, heading for the Freedom States. With nowhere she felt she truly belonged, she wandered from town to town, city to city, only staying for a few months at a time before moving on. Every time she saw Pierce Sniper, however, she remembered that day, rage boiling up inside her.

Then, one fateful night, her life would go to hell once more. As she walked through the city in which she lived at the time, she found the route she would normally take to her apartment closed off, the next quickest way was through a dark alleyway. Tired and just wanting to get “home”, she took the alley, despite the dangers. She never saw the two girls lurking in the shadows, and the next thing she knew, everything went black.

Desmond had asked his concubines for a redhead, and now he had one. Kat was the perfect target. She was a wanderer, a drifter; she never stuck around, and it would be weeks, maybe months before she was noticed as missing.

When she awoke, she found herself in a villa, occupied by Desmond and his thirty other mindslaves. They all obeyed his every command like they had no will of their own, yet they still showed their personalities. Kat figured that she was to end up like them.

That was indeed Desmond’s plan. He implanted a microchip with a GPS transmitter into her right arm so he could keep tabs on her. Considering her a prize catch, the man wanted to make sure the brainwashing went off without a hitch, so he did it slowly in increments, but Kat’s willpower allowed her to stave it off, preventing her thought patterns from being significantly altered by his machine, which used electrical impulses to alter the subject’s brainwaves to his specifications.

After about three months in these conditions, Kat was rendered living in fear, frantic and desperate to escape. Finally, one night she made her move. In the dark of night, she snuck out the back door. After slipping past some guards, she managed to make her way down to the island’s dock and take a speedboat, making a beeline for the mainland.

But even after running as far as she could, collapsing in the desert, and being saved by the Lionhearts, hell wasn’t done with her yet. Desmond wanted her back. He sent two of his minions in a Raynos to retrieve her, equipped with a GPS radar tracking the microchip’s signal.

As they grabbed her, she managed to knock the radar to the floor, which would later be found by James Plainsis. This would tip the Lionhearts off as to her general location, until Desmond found that the radar was missing and terminated the chip’s signal.

This time barely conscious, Desmond succeeded in bending Kat’s mind to his desires, stripping her of free will. Eventually, the Lionhearts managed to find her and, after Luc Anderson unwittingly called her Kitty, broke Desmond’s control over her.

Kat decided to stay with the Lionhearts after that, and is considered an honorary team member. Unfortunately, a few of the triggers her brain was conditioned for by the brainwashing still remained, but the people around her helped her get through her episodes.

Eventually, she was able to start resisting the triggers taking over, and then they finally faded away completely.

Her Leomaster, Dakota, was a gift given to her by Luc and the team's captain, Ethan Bloodworth.

Like I said, sad and a bit twisted.

It's my first time drawing a Shield Liger, i think I did pretty well, despite how damn difficult the top and bottom parts of the mane are *grumbles about the Shield and Blade Ligers having heads that are difficult to draw*
