OHWOW I haven't visited DeviatArt in a looooonnnggg time.
I completely forgot to post my Miraculous Benders AU since I got really busy with real life.

I designed Mari’s airbender outfit based on what I saw in ATLA's official comics.
I really liked the monk robes better than the acolyte uniform so I went with that direction.

Marinette's Story: Marinette is an airbender born into a world where her people’s future is uncertain.
The Fire Nation successfully wiping out the Air Nomads was a bitter truth many had come to accept. Those who hadn’t lost hope believed that a few might have survived and went into hiding by living among non-benders. Even some firebenders suspected this is true. As the years passed, rumors of airbender survivors working as rebels with waterbenders and earthbenders have become quite common. The Fire Nation had yet to catch any airbender rebel since they never attacked directly and were notoriously good at appearing and disappearing at will.
Marinette’s mother, Sabine Cheng, is a descendant from the line of airbenders who survived the Fire Nation attack. She became a rebel when she turned 14 years old. She gathered information by visiting Fire Nation colonies. Several years later, she fell in love and married Tom Dupain, a simple baker and non-bender. When she became pregnant, she revealed her secret as an airbender to Tom, who swore to support her and their child no matter what. Their family earns a living through a shop that sells pastries, teas, and medicinal herbs. Marinette has dreams of becoming a seamstress and owning her own boutique, but she has little hope of that coming true.
When Mari was 6 years old, her family was hunted down by firebenders after they discovered that Sabine and Marinette were really airbenders. Her family managed to lose the soldiers by travelling on a stormy day through the infamously overgrown Turtle Forest. This is how they accidentally came across a hidden Water Tribe encampment, where they sought refuge. They told everything to Master Fu who was the current chieftain. Master Fu allowed them stay for as long as they wanted and put them under the care of the Lahiffe family. Marinette would eventually grow up together with the only son of the Lahiffe family, Nino.
When Marinette turned 13, she had complete control over her airbending so Sabine began to mold her into an airbender rebel. Her duties were restricted to passing information between villages or cities since Sabine felt infiltration was too dangerous for Marinette. As an airbender, Marinette has a natural talent for speed and stealth, despite her clumsy tendencies. She often races with Nino at the forest rivers in a game of speed and tricks. When she finally got her own glider, she surprises her mother by mastering it within a week. She can also read weather patterns and air currents to avoid travelling in bad weather and damaging her glider.
