Meadow larks are indeed striking and they have a sweet song.  I was so happy to find one of their hangouts!  It'll be on my springtime route from now on.

I think meadowlarks are gorgeous but I'd only seen one in all my years here.  Then, in early June, I discovered them on the fence posts along Mormon Row.  (The background is Black Tail Butte way off in the distance.)  And I got to hear them trilling.  Wonderful.
