Description
Hedja hails from a far-away realm of tall mountains, icy tundra and thick forests and bogs. She was born as a child of a warlock and his patron, a powerful hag disguising in exceptional beauty. In her childhood Hedja was bullied for her parentage and avoided by the other children and even the adults of the village she and her father lived in. In her youth, the relationship between her father and his patron soured and one day when she came home from gathering herbs, Hedja found him cold and devoid of life. Immediately, she had her suspicions about who was responsible for his death but when a traveling witch hunter came to her house, looking for information on her father’s patron, Hedja finally had proof that the hag had killed her father. Since in the village nothing was left for her, she went with the hunter and became his apprentice. Over the following years, she became a capable spearfighter and soon developed and mastered magical powers alike to ones of hags. Eventually, her teacher fell in a battle against a particularly nasty werewolf and Hedja since then traveled the land alone, hunting monsters and sometimes even criminals with the help of her owl familiar Valgeslim for coin. Despite having romances here and there, she never stayed in one place for long. Her path crossed, eventually, with the hunter Piotr Kreszkovich. They took a liking to each other and became paramours and traveling companions for a while. One day, Piotr vanished during a night’s rest. Instead of him, Hedja found an invitation letter on his resting place. A strange voivode by the name Timur Stiuvanescu invited her to a ball, offering her information on her father’s patron in exchange for a small service.
