Description

Sergej Shevchenko is a fallen priest of the Nightmother, a goddess of night, darkness, and nothingness. As part of the old guard, Sergej has served his faith during its glory days and has witnessed its downfall firsthand. On his entrance into the Night’s Church, the young Sergej quickly became the heart and guide of its priesthood, for his exceptional wisdom and kindness. When zealous crusaders descended on the Night’s Church several decades later, Sergej was dwelling in a tavern of a city several days away, currently on the lookout for more novices and faithful to bring into the Mother’s peaceful embrace. When the news of the church’s fall reached him, he abandoned his work and hastily traveled South, only to find the cathedral in ruins. Desperately, Sergej searched for survivors all over the realm but found only few. With time he grew deeply depressed and disillusioned and even the ardent words of his surviging brethren Konstatyn and Vajena could not fill the void inside him. Eventually, grief and hopelessness overcame him, making the Drunken Meatsman inn on the border of the realm the final stop of his journey. There, Sergej revels in his misery and depression to this day, numbing his grief with cheap wine and dealing with his powerlessness in senseless brawls and fits of rage.
