Description Hey Guys!

Finally some new stuff! It's the Lego 4x4 OffRoader.
I've got this nice piece in real and decided to build it up in 3D as well.
Like in my previous work with a Lego vehicle I wanted to achieve a mixture between ToonLineStyle and RealGI.
With the help of 3dsMAX7, Finalrender(FinalToon) and Photoshop CS I was able to create what you can see above.

Ok, let's talk business

Due to the fact, that I thought it'd be a good idea to build all roundings on Cylinders with 48er slice, the PolyCount exceeds the 3million barrier.

The final image is composed of:
a "FinalRender Fake GI Pass" for the basis, a "FinalToon Pass" for the lines
a "MentalRay AmbientOcclusion Pass" for more depth where it was necessary
and some Photoshop Layers for any other adjustment work.

Well, what's more to say? Not much right now I guess.

Ok, I hope you like this piece.

UPDATE: There is a view from the rear available with some additional infos about the project. CLICK 2 GET THERE

So long

Could you please give me your impress ?

Hey, it looks good! A bit dark...as is mine I must admit
I think the chains are still missing, right? If it was your goal to make a render just as mine, you pretty much nailed it, well done.
But I think you should experiment some more, try different colors and so on. If I had to do the same render a secound time I'm pretty sure I wouldn't use the same colors again...I tend to swing between "favourite" colors depending on my mood
Keep it up mate!

Ok, so no shit, that is my favorite Lego truck of all time, right? And 3d modeling is probably going to be my career. So you've captured my childhood and my possible future all in one picture. You are the man. Period.

The work that must have gone into every small piece in this is unbelievable, hard to believe its a 3-d model its so well executed.

Brilliant modelling and a stunning render. Makes a great desktop. I must know, did you model each individual component manually or is there a resource available for them? And as for the assembly... I know now to leave 3D to the real experts!

CHRIST MAN!! That is a lot of geometry! I don't think it would turn out nearly as nice if I tried to model that...I've been doin a lego Y-wing. It looks fairly nice but the pieces aren't anywhere near as complex as Lego Technic sets. click [link] to check it out
