This is a very peaceful, yet reflective, scene.
Compared to the previous versions, this makes the most architectural sense and has the best composition.
For ruins like this, I would assume that the vegetation would be somewhat overwhelming. But, the amount you placed is suitable.
The lighting is done well and helps to accentuate the focal points; that being the grave stone, and the stairway where a figure might be placed.
The lighting and atmosphere color becomes strangely foggy and blue as it moves towards the horizon. I'm not sure if this is intentional. Any fog would usually give a brighter contrast when nearby a sunny area.
The variety of vegetation is appealing, while also not being too varied as to be unnatural.
Once again, a very solid and atmospheric piece.

The scene looks cool, but there doesn't really seem to BE a good place to put her. There aren't a lot of good spots for lighting and you don't want to drown her in shadows.

that's the main problem....maybe in a little canoe? it's almost better if she's left out for now...still, it does fell unfinished...grrrrrrr

Hm, after looking the scene over again there seems like enough light and it seems like the right place to have her kneeling just before the steps facing towards the cross. To me the scene setup looks like it was designed to have people kneeling at the top of the stairs with head bowed facing the cross on it's little island. The lighting looks like that should work, that you'd be able to see the character well enough there. She wouldn't need to be bowed probably, or at least not so completely that we couldn't see her face at all. At least I'm hoping there's enough light there.

That's really the main problem...I have no idea. Stoic? Determined? The hard part is finding a fantasy based reference photo/illustration that doesn't have her boobs so huge they'd pop out of the top of a turtle neck sweater, or so overtly sexual that it looks like she's trying to seduce a grave marker.Β

Kneeling looks like worship, wipeing a tear won't read right from that distance, adding someone to comfort her makes the scene look too crowded... I've been pouring through images like mad, I haven't found the right one... Yet....

So, ideas?

Definitely one thing. The face must’ve visible to the light pouring in. It must be slightly raised to depict determination and also for patrons to acknowledge her presence. Face stoic... with a single streak of tear.... although may be too far to see. Her Bow in her clenched left hand; left arm to her side. Respectful, but ready to fight. Right hand a small bouquet of wild flowers to offer the dead. ???

Much improved placement - and would lead nicely to a Knight or Warrior Woman on one knee, head bowed in thanks to whomever the monument was erected for.

i was also thinking about raising the monument up a bit and making the stairs go up...? maybe? perhaps? i don't know yet.Β

i've been looking for a pose that says grief, but from a distance, so we can read it from here. it's tough to portray that emotion in a warrior...but (un)fortunately there's been plenty of suffering and pain in the world that i can draw from...

i've had to rethink the story so that it can work a little better. i want us to be watching this from a little ways away so not to disrupt her moment...

open to suggestions if you got them!

yeah, so originally, the stump was going to be what was left of the tree that held her fathers eternal soul...which had been cut down and carried away to a rival kingdom and held for ransom. and she was just getting back from a battle and wanted to ask her dad for advice when she discovered this act of cruelty.

try doing that in one picture, 'cause maaaaannn...i had no idea how to pull that one off....i'd have to have a neon sign saying : "Dead father's sacred soul holding tree this way"...and probably some medievalΒ jester twirling a sign...or something....i don't know.

so this seemed to read right away. maybe. at least we know it a memorial....

and i have no idea yet who's going to be carrying the weight. i'd like equal billing. the light armor archer is going to be the figure...suggestions?

An interesting combination of different content (old poser content with new daz content in iray)

Well done

I often planned to create landscapes with daz-plants and landscapes, but so far it remained in the planning
