Description

HELLO!!!

I appreciate the favs! feel free to check out my newer pieces!!
as well as my closed species!

Please be well <3<3

Here you all go, sorry for the wait ; w;/ and for the >> mad amount of space throughout this tutorial.

Ah.. I love to make..things shine and glow and blind..er.. this is all done in Sai Painter of course, however you can do the same in Adobe Photoshop

HOW TO DO IN ADOBE PHOTOSHOP(ANY)
Create the layer with the wanted base colour (or subject)
Next create a new layer and set it to "Linear Dodge"
* I dont like using the blur TOOL in Adobe, so i use the filter "Gaussian Blur" pixel settings 3 and BAM, same effect :3

You can also use this for lighting, reflections, Ghosts..play with it and show me what you do eh?

ALSO

Offered a really helpful tip to creating a seamless blur.

First, you open it (canvas) up.
Then, you make the color dot
Then add the shading and what not..blur..
So, you preserve the opacity by locking it, then make a copy of the layer.
You unlock the second layer, and set the effect to "Fringe",
(this is located ABOVE the blend mode normally under the navigation window)
the width to the maximum and so should the other bar.
Then, set the mode on Lumi & Shade, and there you go!
Draw draw draw~<3

End modified excerpt!

I thank you again Obliviousrights for the suggestion!

Again Good luck all, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask me > w< /

How did you duplicate the layer?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PkingSora In reply to Dartty [2011-09-19 21:39:58 +0000 UTC]

pressing shift+d will duplicate it, or click on Layer>Duplicate(d) layer ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dartty In reply to PkingSora [2011-09-20 07:10:37 +0000 UTC]

tried that but it erased everything on the layer

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

PkingSora In reply to Dartty [2011-09-20 12:13:50 +0000 UTC]

Yes, D by itself is to clear, shift+D is to duplicate.. try clicking layer and scrollign down to where it says duplicate aswell, thats the manual way of doing it.
