I'm not sure what prompted this. Yet, some how I became very lonely and longing of my childhood tonight. I cried as I wrote the poem, cuz I'm a light hearted softy. I am truly proud of this piece, and believe it will be among my favorite for a very long time.

The grandest era of my childhood was spent in Kansas. The summers there were DIVINE. Never too hot. NEVER too cold We lived in a couldasack (I have no idea how to spell that) and there were virtually no fences in any one's yard. So, it was like running through a huge park. There was also a lot of space in between the houses. Our house sat on a hill, and at the base of the hill was a bumble bees nest, under a large slab of rock. Bleeding hearts grew around this stone, and no where else. There were also a lot of rabbits and fireflies.

ANYWHO, that's me as a child at the front of the parade, wearing some sort of cloak and hood. We always dressed up, and went on grand adventures. The other two are two of my three brothers. At the time, the third was an infant,
