Name || Lawrence Hael (Law for short)
Gender || Male
Species || Togetic*
Birthday || July 14
Age || 22
Height || 5'11"
Weight || 113 lbs (He has to be able to fly somehow ^^)
Personality || +[friendly, easy-going, quiet] - [arrogant, sarcastic, cynical]
Generally pleasant, Law makes decent company. He is soft spoken and overall relaxed. Being a togetic, many are drawn to the aspect of joy and good fortune that is fabled to follow his species, and while this holds true, Law has grown a cynical edge. He carries an air of haughtiness; being sought out by so many corrupted people looking for happiness in their lives has made him almost arrogant and distrusting. He find amusement for himself by poking fun at others, usually with sarcasm or dark humor.
Law is often tired, being drained from massive amounts of negative energy, but if he can find a kind soul, his energy is rekindled. Despite his level of exhaustion from social interaction, Law always makes his best effort to remain smiling while there are others around – he's got an image to maintain.
Background ||
Lawrence had a relatively average childhood, growing up the oldest of many siblings in a small village of no importiance. He spent much of his childhood working fields and traveling back and forth to the nearby town to trade and provide for his family. He and his siblings always got along well, but Law was always a little different. He had different tendencies than his rambunctios siblings, prefering the remain indors to prevent his skin from darkening; his siblings were all so pale, and made fun of him for being 'overbaked', though he wasn't much darken than they were. His mother noticed how awkward he was, and geve him a little help. Law evolved under his mother's guidance, with her kindness and patience to help him along. His father wasn't one much for gentleness, the Fearow in an almost constant state of annoyance and in a hurry, which only worsened after Law's mother died when he was 10.
Come his early teens, Law knew he was a little different than his siblings. He could summon soft lights from his fingers that could close wounds, that could stop bleeding, and could subdue pain. When he went into town, he always returned home more exhausted than he had ever felt before. People seemed drawn to him for reasons he couldn't name, and they always left much more satisfied than they had been upon arriving. Law grew more tied with each meeting, and in turn becoming more and more iritable. He began hiding from his family and friends, taking the longest route to town to avoid meeting people, staying hidden away and secluded, but to no avail. No mater where he went, he was always found and dragged back home. His father began using him to bring income, charging locals to visit the 'lucky child'.
Years went on of this until a peculiar alakazam dropped by, dressed in lavish garments and carrying a beautifully carved staff. Word of Law had apparently spread further than expected, and this pokemon had arrived to take a look. He eyed the boy, now 17, and nodded, then turned to Law's father. The words he said next were ones that would never be forgotten in that household.
"How spectacularly average."
The events that happened after went by in a blur; the eruption of negativity in the house sent Law's mind spinning. There was yelling, fighting, and eventually Law was handed a bag of belonging and shoved out the front door. He looked around, bewildered, before his gaze settled again on the strange man. Apparently the man had convinced Law's father that Law's abilities had been over-exagerated, and threatened to tell the locals they had been lied to for many years, unless the boy was allowed to be put under his custody. Law's father, after raging for a while, had agreed. Apparently this man was a healer from a city not to terribly far away, and had shown interest in the prospect of a healing-inclined togetic.
As weeks passed, Law came to realize that the alakazam was nothing short of cruel. Law was forced to work non-stop, day in and day out, using every last bit of his power to fuel the psychic pokemon's greed. Law's luck and magic clearly out-scaled the alakazam's by an incredible amount, so the older pokemon fed off of it, using it to make himself even wealthier. Law was at the point where he would pass out daily from sheer exhaustion after all of his own magic was stolen away, and finally the alakazam deemed his "pupil" worthless and cast him out into the streets.
Law wandered the land for another few years, running from those that sought his luck, and staying in the most obscure places he could think of. When he stumbled upon the academy, the togetic was filled with relief of sanctuary where he could study and learn so that he would never be taken advantage of again.
