COLD FIRE
Why do you consume me?
Time ticks, yet you remain
Why do you torture me?
And cause me so much pain?
Where once there was a river
Now a dry bed
What once was pure
Now is dead
Time changes all
But I still remain
Surrounded by questions
I scream your name
Lies, betrayals, murder
How long was I lead?
Why do these thoughts
Cause pain in my head?
As I wonder why
Cold fire engulfs me
Rage, hatred, distain
None that you can see
Hidden away they stay
Dormant, silent, contained
Until I see you,
Then they are unchained
Your sight scorches my soul
I pray for His pity
And I am granted silence
To say something witty
