Is that really the case?
Since this season finale villain got me thinking of Kingdom Hearts.

Excellent art. however I had most kicks from reading about reasons people would get angry with finale for each season - seriously, fandom is one silly pony and lives from one drama to the next.

Thanks. Yeah, fandom dramas. I mostly avoid getting into them by not being too critical with the show.
By the way, I really like your current art style, especially the lineart.

It was pretty awesome, but I'm afraid I must agree with the people who claim that it should have been longer than only two episodes. In the end, we learned nothing about the Shadow and the Well of Shade, the Elements were nerfed for some reason (a banishing spell would have made them disappear, my ass! They didn't disappear when Celestia banished NMM!) and even though every character got dialogue and screentime, some did more so than others.
That said, I loved everything we DID get to see during the two episodes. I hope each of the Pillars will get their own episode in season eight.

Someone did commented on this below, and yes I agree with most of their point. Nevertheless, this is the finale that I enjoy the most.

An art that definitely speaks a thousand words!
You have made them all fit together seamlessly.
However, I won't hear a word against Equestria's newest race of jellybeans! Β Why thier inexpert but goodnatured attempts at developing thier own culture are hilarious! Β

No worries. It would give more fanfics ideas than influence the official writers which are forbidden to read any fanfic anyway.

After each episode, headcanons are shattered, AU tags are added and many fanfics writers cry. And not just from the inside.

Star Swirl didn't watch over @#% and Twilight is too arbitrarily frazzled to watch over Starlight. I'd actually say that the S7 finale was the most rage inducing because it introduced so much yet explored next to none of it; its just one long overstuffed waste of time

Well, the stuff with Starlight and Stygian should have been the S7 premiere and not 'Celestial Advice'; this way Stygian could have [somehow] busted himself out of limbo but with only a connection to the PoS, thus setting up the PoS' return in the finale and not forcing Twilight to do something stupid just to get the plot rolling; THEN we no longer have the Starlight/Stygian stuff getting in the way of the Mane-6 and Pillars, thus the episode can flesh them out, give a compelling conflict between old Elements of Harmony and new Elements, better explain the lore than just vague dialogue we have to take at face value, and maybe learn more about the Pillars and the Tree throughout S7 than just campfire stories about their legends.
My biggest issue with this finale is that its so chocked full of stuff that only one aspect [Starlight/Stygian] gets any real focus, while everything else is just thrown on top of us without warning and then handwaved. If one is to tell a more complicated story [which this clearly is] you need more time to tell it, otherwise it won't work

Ah, now I get it. I thought: "Why would you want them to explore more in these episodes? That'll take more than two episodes." But then you mentioned about the finale being the season primier, and the story goes on from there, and everything makes sense. I agree with you on that.
Still, what happened has happened, and I still hold this as my favourite finale.

Sure the fight was epic, and Discord finally changed for the better...
...but the way Tirek was defeated lowered my eyebrows a bit. It was too quick. Like, 25 episodes passed and that's what in the box all along?
Liked the two songs though. Especially "Let the rainbow remind you", which, I think, is connected with "Shine like rainbows". It's a rainbow connection.

Aw man...This picture...That title...OUCH!Β They get me right in the heart!Β Such a great encapsulation of three different relationships in just one picture; fantastic!
Hurm...I think you might be right about Shadow Play not having anything for fans to be mad about.Β Every character did at least one thing, so nobody was overlooked; moral made sense for the show and played its two main characters in accurate ways; the Pillars of Old were also introduced, which will likely keep people far too busy speculating about what they'll do in Season 8 to have time to complain about anything in Season 7.Β I thought the finale was a little rushed, but even that will be overlooked when we get closer and closer to Season 8.
Wait, people were mad about Starlight's redemption?Β I wonder if it came from the Sunset Shimmer fans?

Glad you like it.
There are people who think Starlight's reformation was too quick. Even I personally did. She was basically a powerful major antagonist that takes the form of an average pony, unlike previous major antagonists. Reformations has become so predictable to the point that many were relieved that Chrysalis was not reformed last season.
That being said, I don't hate Starlight. This season's been great so far, and Starlight certainly got more screen time than Season 6, which is good.

Dr-InSean In reply to poecillia-gracilis19 [2017-11-03 17:22:15 +0000 UTC]
Rushed?Β Huh.Β Compared to other shows, MLP does have a quick turnaround for villain redemptions, but 4 episodes is actually the longest redemption on this series.Β Considering Starlight genuinely wanted to do good in the world and felt like a victim, it only seemed natural to me that she'd reform (though, maybe I have a bias because I've had a lot of thoughts similar to Starlight's).Β In any event, I'm glad it doesn't seem to be bothering people anymore; Starlight's been my favorite character since she showed up and I'm very glad the show is committing to a long story with her.
Considering Discord still hasn't really reformed (he's nice to Fluttershy, but still plays mind-games with Twilight and even assaults other characters with hijinx), Trixie was still running away from her problems by Season 5, Flim-Flam and the Daring Doo villain never changed their ways and Tirek was Tirek, redeemed villains didn't seem like such a cliche to me in Season 5, so Starlight felt like a change of pace rather than a predictable outcome.Β They did reform Sunset before her, but the show seems to prefer not involving itself with the Equestria Girls movies, so I don't count the movies' plots against the main show.Β I guess that's the other reason I liked Starlight's redemption.
Unfortunately, I think I'm the only person in the world who was disappointed Chyrsalis didn't reform.Β I can see the need to keep a pool of villains so that the show doesn't need to constantly make new ones and, regardless of how you feel about Starlight's redemption, redeeming her and Chrysalis back-to-back could have been repetitive; however, the way they kept Chrysalis evil just didn't work for me.Β She always claimed she was committing her crimes to feed her people and she seemed like she actually did care about them, so what's her motivation for staying evil when all of her problems are solved?Β To me, she seemed like she was embarrassed that someone found a better solution than her and didn't want to admit it, which doesn't seem like a great basis for future storylines.Β Trixie had the same problem, but she was supposed to be minor and petty; I don't know if this is going to work for a major villain like Chrysalis.
All of that said, I guess it's not so bad if it kept things interesting for everyone else.

well, more than change like the others, chrysalis have her reasons (this is because she doubts about do something, even hurt starlight)
Chrysalis reminds me Piccolo daimaoh jr in DBZ, he wasn't exactly one of the good ones when he confgronts gokuh in the tenkaichi budokai, but gokuh spares his life (even counting than he knows about the whole kakisama/piccolo detail) and they became allies in years after that (in fact mostly every villain is in gokuh's side after been defeated, not counting, of course the totally evil ones, like cell, majin buu (the fat one is mr boo) and freezer)
on season six gonna know more about chrysalis and her reasons ?

Dr-InSean In reply to sigel4ever [2017-11-08 16:54:41 +0000 UTC]
If Chrysalis has doubts about the new Changelings, they will need to explain that when she returns to the show.Β It did not look like she had many reasons to leave in Season 6, but I am sure the show will explain what she is doing at some point.
That is a good point you make about Piccolo, but I don't think Chrysalis has much in common with him.Β I think that Discord is the most similar to Piccolo right now: they were both villains at first, they help the heroes now, but they are not 100% good guys yet (Piccolo only helped Goku fight Radditz because Radditz was too strong; Discord is not as evil as he used to be, but he still helped Tirek in Season 4 and he still plays tricks on Twilight).
I think Chrysalis is more like Vegeta during the Planet Namek story: Vegeta and Chrysalis started off as major villains, but they are hiding now as a new villain shows up; we do not know what they will do next, but they will probably attack the heroes when they come back.
I think Season 8 will talk more about the Pillars of Old and how they adapt to the modern world.Β If Chrysalis is only Starlight's enemy now, I do not know if either of them will get much attention in the Season Premiere or Season Finale, but anything can happen and maybe Chrysalis will come up after all.

well, until new information (rumors about tirek because tirek's voices is comfirmed in season 8) we still stranded
my references about piccolo is from DB (without Z), Piccolo daimaoh was a gorgeous antagonist and his last wish (more like an extension than a son) is the proof, even now, he is still knew it as ma junior
in the cinematic (when Chrysalis is show for season 8) is still unclear in wich moment happens the event (as for Chryssy's actitude, looks more than is previous to season 6 finale for two reasons, one is she only focused in the mane six and the other is she ignores Starlight, probably take her only a twilight's whim)
is still Chrysalis work alone or not?
