Yeah I just re-watched this episode and Fluttershy behaves nothing like this.
Fluttershy was the character in this episode that drove Rainbow Dash to acceptance.
Which ultimately was the kindest thing to do.Β

NS it's an alternate ending.
You took a common critique of the episode (in that Fluttershy was OOC) and threw a magnifying glass on top of it.
I was merely pointing out that after watching "Tanks for the Memories" again Fluttershy really wasn't as bad as most people think.
Given that she learns about "tough love" in the Breezie episode I'd say her character development up to this point in the show was right on the mark.

It was either this or finding he wouldn't come out of shell for days and shaking it until the bones come out.

Keep the shell and use it as a snack bowl, it's what Tank would have wanted.

Hibernation is a horrible metaphor for death.Β The hibernating come back.Β The dead don't.

really? what's your better metaphor for this young children's show, then?

for death
true, hibernating animals come back, but if tank didnβt Lauren Faust would have angry parents and hundreds of overly sheltered children weeping, sooo

That is a presumption.Β Faust wasn't even involved in that episode, anyway.

sheβs the producer and the name parents see to complain to.
and itβs a presumption based on past occurences, like with Derpy

It makes some sense, but I see it was badly worded. How about "inference based on a past event," then?
