Ah! It's his scar from the end of seaso 2 when Azula zaps him in the back with a bolt of lightning
As for how I got it to look so bright... uh... it's been a long time since I made it but I'm pretty sure I was just messing around with layer styles in photoshop until I got something that I liked color wise.

i took a bunch of different color scheme pictures and cut those up in a bunch of little pieces and put it all together to look like your drawing.

i'm usually not that patient either....idk. i was just really inspired by your drawing and really really determined to finish it. the sense of freedom and hope your drawing gave me was just too overwhelming to not recreate it.

I'm honestly very flattered that you enjoyed it that much. Made me all kinds of bashful to read that comment. I was really excited about season 3 when I originally drew it and I had so many ideas about where I wanted the story to go so I was kind of building on that... and a crazy bad urge to draw a gnarly scar on his back.

I know this is going to sound super cheesy, but A:tla changed my life. I don't know what it is about that show....it just made so much sense to me. I have honestly never had anything reach me on the level that show did. It was just....enlightening.
I enjoy many shows- I'll give pretty much anything a chance

Heh well, it's still very flattering to know that I've made something that would evoke emotion in someone else. That's a very big complement to me.
So now that you have mentioned that you find it enlightening I have to ask what insights you got from the show? I admit that I felt quite let down by the end of the series (hence why the fan art stopped) but I do remember a time where it really sparked my imagination and I was just all together excited about the world that had been created. I'm normally very curious to hear what people have to say about it after watching all of it.
Hmm... lately I've been watching more live action stuff but the last thing I started marathoning was Lie to Me* ... depends on if you want suggestions for comedies, dramas, etc.

Heh, I'm absolutely wretched at explaining things but I suppose I'll try.
I guess it just reminded me that it really doesn't matter who you are or where you're going in life- you have the capability to go against the odds and do your own thing. It's like nothing can tie you down or enforce a certain fate- you can still choose where things go. It just made me feel free and empowered. As if someone just came up to my cage and pointed out that it has been unlocked my entire life and I just never bothered to check.
and I have no idea. I watch pretty much everything haha
