I know the title phrase is from Bebop, but I feel it fits Jin.Anyway, I finally got around to drawing him! It was fun doing the background... even if it took me about four tries to come up with one that looked halfway decent.

Wow! Jin simply oozes of coolness and so does this piece.
Interesting that you should keep the title like that,because it fits perfectly with Jin's fighting style and overall temperment. Ever noticed how Spike's character seems to be passed on to both Jin and Mugen (and not to mention hairstyle too). Jin is like the cool and composed side of Spike wheras Mugen is his brash and headstrong part.
Heck...even Spike's bent cigarettes have been replaced by a bent reed that Mugen occassionaly carries in his mouth
And btw...the water quote is originally from Jeet Kune Do master Bruce Lee I believe. Spike is a big fan of Bruce Lee and if you notice,also fights Jeet Kune Do style. Hehe...in one of the CB episodes he even points out that one of the nunchakus on display looks like the 'Way of the Dragon' model.
And I also realized that if you havent seen Bebop...most of my comments prolly didn't make any sense at all

There do seem to be elements of Spike in both Jin and Mugen... though they certainly come off as characters all their own two. I wonder if those are simply traits Watanabe admires in characters? Heh, whatever the case, if he keeps making stuff with characters as interesting as the aforementioned ones I'll always watch his stuff.

Hehe! know how you feel! not all that good at watercolour either...but then I'm not that good at photoshop!how did you get the effect? was it just using the brush tool and messing with opacity? And the layering? been trying to mess with that sorta thing & it always comes out kinda messy!

Pretty much! Total trial and error with the wet media brushes and there where definitely times where it looked messy and dumpy.

I thought the movie was done pretty well all things considered... I knew they wouldn't be able to fit everything in so I thought they did well enough in condensing it into something that would make sense to the masses (though there were a few parts I really, really, really missed). Was the POV gun an addition? I haven't read the books and I've only listened to radio episodes 1-12, but if it was an addition I thought it was clever.
Ooh, architecture stuff... from all the architecture students I talk to it's a pretty demanding vocation, so good luck with that!

eh...yeah POV was ok, radio series is the BEST!!!much better than al the other media used (including book...though they were different!) I knew they wouldn't put in everything but I felt that it could have been adapted better (come on...Trillian & Arther get together?????IMPOSSIBLE!!)
RE architecture, just had to do a bit of 3d modelling, was easy, not even sure if they'll use it

oh so do I!!will just have to wait and see(:impatient:!!)A lot of the voices in the radio series played the characters in the TV version, I do think the whale was the same (though I'm not sure) and Stephan Fry was reasonable as the book, could have been better, could have been worse! I just wonder how they're going to fit in the next section ( you know the galactic president bit) know they've ended the film that way...seems a bit odd, don't think it'll fit in very well!

The radio is the best... I've seen part of the old tv series, heard the radio series and seen the movies and something about the voices on the radio just makes it all so familiar an perfect... the voices just make the characters. I noticed, I think they used the same voice for the sperm whale on the movie as they did on the radio... or if not the same voice something darn close.
I thought the Trillian x Arthur ending was odd... I suppose for the movie to keep drawing people in they needed a real clencher of an ending and the American movie going audience does love its romantic tie ups.
Being paid is good. *nods* I hope they do pay you.
