I just really, really love this character's design~ I've actually wanted to draw her since valwyrie posted this because she looked JUST SO FUN TO DRAW. As you all know, I'm slightly obsessed with drawing night skies, so I was like...I get to draw as many stars as I want.I haven't had a ton of time recently due to Camp NaNo, running a contest, tutoring, hanging out with friends, and various other things that I prioritize higher than drawing. I missed it more than I thought; drawing this was the most fun thing I've done with my tablet in a while~ Fun fact: the part I love most about drawing is the colors, beyond placement and lineart, so what was different here was I made everything really loose and focused most on my favorite part. I hope it shows.
Also, PLEASE, EVERYONE, GO GIVE BLAM SOME LOVE! She has the cutest drawing style ever, I swear, and she's also the sweetest, kindest person you may ever meet. Help brighten her day with comments, favs, llamas, and watches~ I know the number of active watchers I have is falling rapidly, but if you're there... THIS IS YOUR TRUE CALLING! She also has commissions ~ ;D

You should! I do suggest looking around at tutorials and reference drawings first, since that can really help when you figure out how to go about it, but it's super freeing and fun when you realize how not-hard it really is~

The thing I really like about your drawing submissions is the funny comments that you tend to add.

Pfftt, yeah, I do have longer descriptions on drawings, most of which are a mix of complaining about one thing or another and being happy about another.

Many, many years ago I was a volunteer at the Perth Observatory's star gazing nights for the public. And then I got a real job

I think it was about 5 years (it's some 10+ years ago). It was great, they were using mostly high end amateur telescopes (Mead and Celeron), but also one of the original research telescopes. And that was a real beauty to use, not the easiest to operate and most volunteers preferred to use one of the others, which was really good for me as I really liked this one.
It was a drive. Two days to go there (8 and 6 hours drive including a side trip) and a one day drive back home (just under 13 hours). I love those long drives and once you are away from Perth towards the north it gets very isolated pretty quickly, little traffic and good roads though there are a lot of grey nomads (retirees) with their caravans on the road.

I'M SO HAPPY YOU LIKE IT! I like to think of it as a redraw of Amity , even though this took a lot less time and doesn't have traditional lines. Gingka is really fun to draw, I might draw her more for stress relief if that's okay~ And if you do find yourself writing her story, PLEASE SHARE IT WITH ME. I BEG OF YOU.
