Description A slightly less awkward version of [link] I think the color is kind of awkward, and I wouldn't say it's better than the original zatchling, but I like it anyway.

This one is going on sale to the highest bidder at my school's auction on Friday.

Head details will be in scraps later in case you're interested, and black things are hard to photograph.

Yep! I build up the clay over a copper wire and aluminum foil "skeleton" and paint the finished product with acrylics.

Thanks! For this, I used Super Sculpey over a wire-and-foil armature, but most of the smaller things I do are made from Sculpey III.

I love the designs of the creatures that you sculpt. They're always so interesting. Fantastic mouthparts on this guy. I also like the structures emerging from its back. They look somewhat like vestigial wings that are now simply for display. The single weight-bearing toe on each foot is another interesting feature.

Thank you! I'd like to think of this one as the more specialized version of the original, what with the more symmetrical and distinct jaw regions. The back structures were originally meant to be vestigial wings, but their placement on the animal's back wouldn't have allowed flight in the first place. Perhaps they had a different function originally, but now they're just for communication/display.

Thanks for the fave!

Thanks! I figured some specializations were needed, seeing as the first had jaws that were more or less leaflike and radially arranged around the mouth. This design is much more interesting in my opinion.

Thanks for the fave!
