Blizzard has quality? What is this you speak of? The last time I checked Blizzard has little to no creativity, implements nothing new into any of their design, and receives almost all of their graphic design from free submissions.

So World of Warcraft, Starcraft II (including the amazing trailer cinematic that I believe inspired this piece) and Diablo III are, in your opinion, not examples of creativity?

Not a fan of starcraft at all. World of warcraft is terrible, unless you like a rehash of the same model for every item in the game. Diablo however is up to par.

I don't think the hundreds of highly talented artists at Blizzard (who are held in high regard by much of the visual effects industry) would appreciate you calling their efforts sub-par simply because you don't enjoy their games. Naturally, you are entitled to your opinion, but in mine the statements you have made above need to be corrected. And I'd just like to take a second to analyse this comment:

You may comment on youtube's quality bar if you like... otherwise my point is pretty much made here.

Starcraft has never caught my attention and the video you showed proves why. The design team in Warcraft is horrible. The "fan-art" is fine, but the art that blizzard produces is overrated. And yes, the majority of Blizzards design came from another source. If not, it's a recolored version of what has already been created. Diablo is fine. It actually can keep my attention but starcraft and warcraft are bad examples of quality art.

We're discussing the company and what it produces, not it's fans that actually have artistic ability. On the first page alone I saw numerous paintings from people on this site. They themselves are great artists, do not give the credit to blizzard.

First paragraph: you don't like the work they produce, and that's fine as a personal opinion, though if it's generated through bias against the company itself I'd consider it ill-founded and pretentious. Second paragraph: I'd like to see an example, not a restatement...

I played starcraft and it failed to impress. The feel of it wasn't there. I have seen plenty of art and some of the fan art for starcraft is good, but I cannot see it as a wonderous creation. Starcraft isn't up to standards in terms of science fiction or creativity, as most of it is either dull or once again founded from a previous source or artist.

Sigh. If you're trying to prove that Blizzard actually steals and uses fan art as their concept art (or 'design' as you have put it) it would help if you didn't link me to their FAN ART page - or is it unethical in your opinion for them to post fan art from their huge userbase on their website, promoting both their games and the artists who made the fan art? Why don't you ask the artists who submit their work onto that website? You were so kind as to link me to an example - [link] fan art. The artist in question even submits manipulated World of Warcraft screenshots to Blizzcon contests! And you say that Blizzard is taking this person's art and making money off it. Doubtful.

Which brings me to an earlier quote from you:
"the majority of Blizzards design came from another source.". I reiterate: PROVE IT. The sentence above only makes sense if you replace 'design' with 'fan art' in which case the appropriate response to the statement is:

That last statement is on the verge of sounding like jealousy, even.
