I've been practising for the last weeks - I think I deserve a little fluff: AVATAR FANART!
So, the first episode of The Legend of Korra hit the internet yesterday and I'm shifting into fangirl mode. Sorry, can't help it.
In honour of the good old times here's a portrait of Tenzin, Aang's and Katara's youngest son, in the style of the other ones I did about 4 years ago for ATLA. I might be doing more - any requests?

I'm still having trouble with his basic facial structure, but besides Tenzin, Korra, Naga(Korra's Polar bear dog), and Meelo(Tenzin's son) are my favorite characters.

i saw the episode yday the only part i didnt like about the anime was is WHY IN THE HELL AANG DEATH AND NOT KATARA
isnt Katara older then aang so yea

It actually makes sense. I mean, if you remember aunt Wu's prophecy then Katara will die after her third great-grandchild is born. Depending on whether she has other grandchildren (besides Tenzin's kids) and whether they're old enough to make babies she'll probably have a few more years ahead. Mike and Bryan also stated that Aang died relatively young because being frozen in an iceberg for 100 years was draining his life power or something like that. So yeah...
I really really like Tenzin so far. Everyone keeps saying that he's sooo different from Aang but I see they also have a lot in common. He might not have Aang's playfulness but otherwise he appears to be a very kind and gentle guy, kinda like a mature version of Aang, if you get what I mean. XD

Lol yea tenzin might be serious guy but he does the playfuness off aang xD and his kids especially one of the smallest one is playful just like aang was when he was young xD i wanna zuko's family lol

I'm curious about Zuko (and Mai?) as well. After all Katara said most of her friends are dead - not all, right? RIGHT? One can have hope! XD

Aang was frozen in an iceberg in suspended animation, in the Avatar State for 100 years. He was 112 years old, but he didn't age while in the iceberg. Some people speculate that since the Avatar State kept Aang alive in the iceberg for a hundred years, it drained some of his lifespan, so he ended up dying prematurely.

I just watched the first episode.
Pretty cool. I like how it feels quite Avatar-ish but still changed quite a bit in the set-up. And it definitely starts off with a higher pace than the original series.

I know, right? It's great! Regarding the pace it feels like they don't wanted to waste any time. They just throw you into the action.
