- This is for the Men of Avatar
- The Character I've chosen is the one and only King Bumi!
Since the other guys in the contest are Iroh, Aang, Zuko, Sokka and Jet I'm pretty sure Bumi is an underdog among the other entries. It will be hard to win while all the other pretty boys have a gazillion of fangirls who will probably vote for them.
But who cares? We all know Bumi is the only one of them who really rocks! XD

Ok then - at least I have another portrait for my collection of minor characters. Used the same technique: Thick lines, simple colouring and a messy background where you can (almost not) see the earth bending symbol.

Bumi reminds me of a cross between Mega Man's Dr. Wily and Back to the Future's Doc Brown. But I think he's not as unscrupulous as Dr. Wily, though I couldn't be sure if he was friend or foe when Sokka, Katara, and Aang arrived at Omashu for the first time (though it really wasn't Aang's first time). But Bumi's not a bad guy; just a tad eccentric and more than a bit clever. I remember him in a match with Toph in the Avatar: The Last Airbender comic book The Lost Adventures by Dark Horse. If you haven't read that, I'll leave it at that.

Have you ever noted he's half-blind?
His left eye is just like Toph's both eyes
He also has darker eyes than that

I'm not sure if his left eye is actually blind. The pupil is black while Toph's eyes clearly have lighter coloured pupils. I suppose Toph has a cataract since birth. In Bumi's case however it just looks like he has slightly differently coloured irises.

But it's weird, though, that nobody in the cartoon pointed that out (even if he was really just heterochromatic, SOMEBODY should point that out)
