Description
An architecture piece for my History fo Architecture class. Original is 18' by 24', drawn and colored completely in Photoshop CS2 with the use of a wacom tablet. Reference pictures from india, spain, italy, and england used for concept and rendering. Photography of roof tiles tresholded for some of the black and white texture layers.Time taken: roughly 3 days straight staying up at odd hours, and fighting with a very slow laptop.
I bring you: "Steam City" (as seen at night).
....because Steampunk is just freakin' cool.

God the detail in this...first of all, I'm a big fan of night time scenes, so this is right up my alley. The time and detail into each building, the gears, I just love the way there's exposed gears and sprockets in the guy, sort of makes him look like some steam punk cyborg. You've definitely captured the whole dystopian/apocalyptic future theme that you see in a lot of animes and movies of that genre. You should get an amazing mark on this, I just know it.
