Hans Maier had been president of Deutscher Katholikentag (the Catholic laymen organization) and Minister in charge of culture and education in the Free-State of Bavaria, besides his work as political scientist and author. I knew him, because during my youth-press-reporter days one of his daughters got troubles in her school because of an article she wrote in a student paper which was banned by the principal of the school (not because of her article). For several years we stayed in touch and since then I started to read the books of her father. In 1021, for his 90th birthday, we wanted to organize an event on his writing in the library, but that was at the end delayed for 2 years by the covid-pandemics.
