Cirrus class lightships have been highly classified since their inception due to the sensitive nature of their missions.Lightships are named due to their inherent ability to bend light around their hull. Equipped with this cloaking system, lightships are therefore premiere infiltration units often deployed deep into enemy territory for sabotage, search & destroy as well as assassination missions.
Though lightships do not possess much in terms of weaponry, its single spinal mounted "starfire" laser is powerful enough to rip through the shields and armour of capital ships with ease.

Technically, space combat won't occur within visible sight nor will being "invisible" help - they'll just track the heat emissions. Stealth in space, as a rule, is impossible.

Heat is part of seen or not to be seen. At 100 miles you can not see the target on infrared but you can locate it on radar or lidar. So you need stealth to stop giving return echos. Stealth 101

Heat in space is seen even light years away with the use of antimatter. This is space, not the atmosphere. Space is cold, you are hot, a glowing dot in the darkness, an easy target.
