... Which includes African Penguins. (Shoutout to Buddy and Pedro!) Well, I've had the idea for this design for a while, but was waiting for gay pride month or something like that to make it.. That's in June, but I thought hey, why not post it now? For the past year I've been creating characters with more sexual, religious and racial diversity. Actually, fun fact, Alfred's a pansexual.

There was this children's book about that, I've never read it but the cover was really cute.

I based the penguins here on Buddy and Pedro, the famed "gay penguins" from the Toronto Zoo.

This is a great design, with a great message. I might be straight myself, but that doesn't mean I don't respect other sexualities, even if I don't necessarily entirely understand them. It's just like everything else. If you want to do it, people shouldn't be allowed to hate on you just because they perceive you as 'weird'. It's denying you who you are.
As a matter of fact, there is a famous male-male Gentoo Penguin couple in Edinburgh Zoo - famous mostly because one of the individuals making it up is a rare 'isabelline' penguin, so pale he's almost white. I've also heard of homosexuality in koalas, bats and cattle. It's just another reason that the natural world is an amazing place that never ceases to surprise us.

My opinion was definitely formed because of the way people treat me for being 'different'. I don't behave like them, I don't have the same interests, I don't want to go clubbing and get drunk, and therefore I'm a freak who deserves to be laughed at. I'm lucky enough to be a healthy individual with nothing visibly wrong with me, so I can only imagine what with people with physical disabilities get. There just seems to be this huge bias against anything that doesn't fit the norm. But if we were all 'normal', the world would be a very boring place.
