Let's continue with another round of Jouen Pokémon, this time, it's all middle stagers. Kodoll is the first Ghost- type in a region chock-full of yokai-inspired Pokémon, but I couldn't very well make all of them Ghost type now could I? Other yokai-based Pokémon have also not been Ghost-type before and yokai aren't necessarily ghosts anyway. This little guy has also gone through some major design changes, but I've ultimately gone a bit back to the roots with its look, since this is also based on one of my earliest ideas for fakemon I can remember. Kodoll is based on the Kodama, a Japanese wood sprite inhabiting trees. Their most prominent depiction in pop culture is probably in princess Mononoke, but my design was actually originally inspired by the little wood sprites in the music video for Keane's 'Somewhere only We know'.

As stated above, this is the middle stage in a three-stage evolution line. But you'll have to wait and see about its other stages
