Description

Second Pokémon for today! Kinkumo is part of the local feminin-looking Pokémon line, another middle stage evolution. This is a rather recent design of mine, which only came into existence after I settled on the Japanese folklore and yokai theme for my Pokédex.

Kinkumo is based on the Jorogumo, a spider yokai, which takes the for of beautiful women, like so... many... frickin'... other yokai do... holy s***, it's not even funny!

It's also partially based on the Ushi-Oni, a cross between a spider and a bull, which is where it's horns and spiky feet come from.

When thinking about its typing the first thoughts were things like bug and poison, maybe dark... you know... because spider.

That was pretty lame however, I thought, when a different idea popped into my head. I had recently eliminated a different line from my Pokédex, because I decided not to do a certain gameplay aspect after all and that line was modelled all around that context. That left me short of a three-stage Steel-type line. And I thought... huh... Steel type... you know what, why the f*** not?

So, here's the first of three elegant and posh steel spider lassies! Don't get ensnared!
