WELL. I've been feeling terrible about my art skills recently, like I can't draw anything at all, so I surprised myself here!

Anyway, this is Emela from my MARDEK RPG series, in the outfit that she may wear in Chapter 4. I've tried to design it a few times in the past, usually with the same general feel and colours (purple was always this character's main colour in the projects I used her in before MARDEK), but this is probably the one I'm most satisfied with so far.

While it certainly seems that I CAN render things like this if I put the effort in, I'm not sure it's my ideal way to create art, because it takes way too long. I mean, it 'only' took somewhere between 4 and 6 hours, which isn't long compared to the time Really Good Artists spend on each piece, but I don't know; I suppose I get more pleasure out of doing quick, hour-long speed paintings! Maybe I'll speed up with more practice though; I feel like there was a lot of slow learning and error-correcting here.

I'm still rather satisfied with this, though! I feel I've come a long way recently, and my recent face studies really paid off here! I feel like there are still a lot of things I need to work on though, like hands, legs, hair, and BACKGROUNDS in particular!

(EDIT: I always used to make the mistake of making the eyes too high up on the face and the forehead too small... Here, I made the top of the head way too big, so I've now fixed that and I think it looks much better now!)
