I love seeing other artists' "Look how much I've improved!!" things! I've also been feeling really bad about my art skills recently and like I'm not getting anywhere fast at all, but I surprised myself with the Emela picture I just did.

SO, with those two things in mind, I found almost all of the pictures I've done of Emela basically ever (excluding the character portrait from the MARDEK games themselves, and a couple of others that I didn't include for various reasons), and put them side by side to see if I am getting anywhere.

And I think I am?!? Yes, I think I've made a teensy-weensy bit of progress since 2010! Just a little bit though. o_O

I find all of these cringeworthy except the latest two (the Dec 2012 is full of flaws that I didn't see then but I can see now, but I still like the general look of it), so it's embarrassing to show this off, but maybe it's inspiring or something?!? I'm usually inspired when other artists do these.

Also, apparently I did a design for her Chapter 4 outfit back in June 2012... and I hadn't seen it since then. I intended to go down a similar path with the newer one, but I'm shocked that I chose the same-shaped tail cape thing both times, since it's basically a coincidence! I also used two blue gems arranged vertically on the torso on both by coincidence, though differently!

Anyway, I'm trying really desperately to art as fast as I can in order to make up for 'lost time', since I SHOULD have been trying to improve during my teens but never did... It's nice to see clearly that I'm getting somewhere.
